After owning/leasing gen1, gen2, and gen3 over the past many years...and going through my share of minivans and family friendly gear hauling vehicles....I have a gen 4, 2011, on order with an early June build date.

I debated quite a bit about waiting to order the 2012...but there doesn't seem to be much confirmed about differences in the model years, and I'm hopeful that there might be some nice incentives on the 2011 with the 2013 expected spring of 2012. My current lease is up end of August...so I couldn't quite wait to order the 2013 as my replacement vehicle. And with delays experienced by family members taking delivery of new vehicles (Explorer and Fiesta) - I wasn't optimistic that I would actually see my car within 4-6 weeks of being ordered (so I didn't want to wait until 2012 retail orders were available to order).

I've already had to change my color choice, as my order went in when the red was at risk to be available...and later confirmed not to be an option. So, I have sterling grey on the way.

This will be another lease for me - so no exciting after market mods....but a nice (fun) change from my Ford Flex (which for some things, I'm sure I will miss - but that's why we have an Explorer in the family too!).

For those that have ordered 2011's - what has been the time between order and delivery (here's hoping Showgun's is an exception!)?

I hope for your sake it's an exception too.

Were it not for these guys I probably would have gone off my rocker waiting all the time I did -- The wait was well worth it tho. Very impressive vehicle!

Congrats on the order -- you'll love the car and 4 to 6 weeks is pretty good.

In case you need it: Good Luck.

C.

car is in....

Just as an update - I had a VIN on 5/20 and the dealer took delivery on 6/11. We had a family trip planned to use up some of the miles on my current lease - so I won't be picking it up until next week.

Dealer is buying out of my current lease so that I can get into the car before the end of my lease (and not have 2 vehicles at the same time). Yeah to customer service!

We've actually been dealing with the same sales person for over 15 years - and between my husband and I, and referrals, have done well over 20 vehicles through him.

They aren't the biggest in the area, or the showiest, or the one with the most awards, or even the closest to where we we live - but we've been treated more than fairly by this salesperson on multiple ocassions, and he has gone out of his way to accommodate schedules and requests (including coming to our house and work for things needed) - and for us, that means a lot.

That's what we like to hear: A dealership whom cares about their customers and will go the extra mile to keep them happy and accommodated.

There are a few of them around and it's refreshing and reassuring to find one.
