I think I'm about settled on a SHO. I've been shopping everything from 30k to 60k and think the SHO is the right car for me right now. I'm driving about 35k/yr right now and think I should have a car I enjoy if I'm spending that much time on the road.

I am, however, having trouble finding one on a lot. I work in Shreveport, LA where there are 0, live in Longview, TX where there are also 0, and can only find 1 in Dallas.

What are the odds of my dealer being able to locate my SHO when I'm ready to pull the trigger? Or am I in for a long, slow, painful wait for a 2012?

2012. Sorry...but you'll benefit (probably) from more power, more visual distinction from the base Taurus, and MyFord Touch.

That's the impression I'm getting. More power = good. More visual distinction = meh (especially if it means chrome doorhandles...bling just isn't my bag)

A 'shawdowline' trim option like the 5 series would make me very, very happy.

I might just have to call the local dealer and have them poke around and see if there is anything remotely close to what I'm looking for (Sterling grey, 401A, Nav,20") available anywhere.

I know Pennsylvania is a long way, but my dealer has 2 in stock and another dealer has one, so there is at least 3 in my area.

With as much as you drive, having a SHO that looks more like the standard Taurus may be a benefit (a bit of a "sleeper"), although speed cameras don't care what the car looks like.

Once my dealer knew I was serious about purchasing, it only took them a week to locate the car I wanted and get it delivered from out of state. It probably helped that I was flexible on color (Kona blue or black) and features (didn't car it if had the PP, but wanted the 20" wheels, didn't car if it had multi-contour seats). I also said I didn't care if it was 2010 or 2011, although I'm glad they found a 2011.

Tamiami Ford, Naples, FL (who got us our Brick from another dealer) has a Sterling Grey SHO w/ 401A, Performance Package and Nav in stock. ($43K something sticker. (their Zip code - 34110) However, I believe it has the 2-tone interior. Believe current incentives are $2,000. or more. Also, if you can get an x-plan pin, you can buy it at about $100. over cost plus the incentive discounts. (Roughly a $5K - $5.5K savings from sticker.

Most of the big dealers in FL have one or 2 new SHO's on the lot.

:thankyou: I can go either way on the interior, but at least I'm know there's at least one out there. Partner Plan pricing on that one w/ incentives looks to be about $38,400.:thumb:

When you consider the F150 that I'm driving now (which I'll be keeping) would be about $45k to replace...

If you can't find one, and without looking around I don't know where there are any, be prepared to wait months for a factory order.....My '11 has been on factory order since Dec.21 and is due to be delivered this coming week (I hope)

The incentives (factory and dealer) on it were quite amazing and I couldn't resist. (tho now they have expired)

If there are changes for '12 with power, MyTouch, and visuals, be prepared to pay for it and expect no incentives at least for a while.

Don't know what dealer and factory incentives you have there but if there are any have your dealer look around and locate your choice of an '11 and get it in.

Easy-Peasy...:)

I'm leaning towards waiting until the '12s are officially announced to see what's available. If it's a bunch of "meh" options I'll have me dealer start digging around for '11s. If it turns out that we get an extra 35hp and better brakes with little to no additional cost I'll order one up and suffer the chrome door handles and the extra few months wait time.

The truck is still doing it's thing, but I'm looking at 170k on it at the end of the year. That's getting pretty long in the tooth for a truck that spends an awful lot of time on oilfield lease roads. No hurry but a new vehicle is in the cards either this MY or next.
