I have a 2010 SHO. It will at random times feel like it shifts into neutral at a stop. You will try to take off and it will just rev up and not move and than just bang into gear. I replaced the range sensor already. I also had it in to Ford recently to have it reflashed to the newest software. It took them all day to get that done and I'm not sure if they actually did it or not but I don't have a way to check current software ID. Is there anything else I should be looking at for this problem?

It has 77,000 miles on it. Drives perfectly fine all other times. And this only happens once and a while. Fluid level is good. Had just filled it when I did the range sensor.

I'll probably start with replacing the separator plates and deleting the one check ball. I wish I would have done it when I had the valve body out to do the range sensor but at least it isn't to bad to do.

Is there a list of PCM software ID's? I'm borrowing a OTC Genisys that I'm hoping will show what is in it currently.

Are you referring to the PCM calibration ID or the strategy code? Tuning devices will show the strategy code, for sure. Will have to check to see if Forscan picks up the calibration IDs.

EDIT: I seen in Forscan info the software version etc. for pretty much everything BUT the PCM.

I guess I just want to verify it got the latest software update when it was at Ford. They didn't seem to know what they were doing.

Probably best to ask a friendly Ford/Lincoln tech to look up in OASIS? They should be keeping the service records on file.

If I had a friendly local tech to do that that'd be great. They wouldn't even tell me what they reflashed it to when they charged me for it.

Try a Lincoln dealership instead. Go up to the service manager, and request a quick check to see if the PCM is uptodate on calibration. With any luck ...

I had the same when my SHO was new. It wasn't fully resolved until all of those TSB'S were completed. 5 years now and no issues.

Which reminds me, Eric, that the TSS/OSS sensors can also cause "vague" issues, so it's worth checking them out as possible culprits here.

I pulled the valve body out this weekend and replaced the 2 plates and removed the 1 check ball that's listed in the TSB. I could see on the old plate that the check ball had worn a groove into the plate. So far it's been shifting good so I'm hoping it stays like that.

Got any pics of the parts replaced vs new parts etc? We are sorely lacking for pictorial descriptions where trans components are concerned :)

This is the original plate.

Here is one of the inside of the valve body.

I will try to get a close up of the old plate where the ball was worn into it.
