anyone ever race a bone stock 2005 gt mustang? I have very few mods but was wondering what to expaect when my buddy challenges me.

If it is a Automatic you will loose. If it is a 5 speed car you will loose unless the guy is a terrible driver.

There's no way you're going to beat a '05+ GT. It's just not gonna happen. '04/- GTs, you will have a good chance of beating, but not a 3V 4.6.

Werent the '04 gt's something like 265hp and the '05 gts bumped up to almost 300hp? I know both years have us beat on torque too (by quite a bit). Plus RWD. I would think that he would have to mess up really bad for you to beat him in a straight line. Now in the corners may be a different story if you have some suspension mods.

yeah, i just looked it up. 05 had 300hp , a 13.8 time

now my other friend wants to race and he has a non turbo cobalt that has 3000 into the engine. i need that intake, lpm, and 80mm maf installed

Dont be suprised what happens at say a 55 roll lol. A good running atx at that gave a 05 gt vert. owner a whole new perspective of the old blue taurus.

I was head to head with a stock STI with my n/a sho. (hint STI has 300hp)

but I got like 5k in the engine alone.

So I guess you have your answer there.

Friend had a stock 05 sti put down just over 250 awhp on the dyno and those 6 speeds are quick . I havent got to try running a STI yet but have destroyed 2 modded wrx's and gt40'd 5.0 . I dont think a SHO will even touch a stock 05+ GT without n2o or boost.

Oh Jason , When I take a drive that way to hunt down your Subie Ill make sure the SHO has enough power to make it intresting supporting mods for 400 hp then ill throw the spare mtx in the trunk and head on over

I'll be aiming for 11's next year... Bring more than one spare transmission.
