Hey everyone up for sale is my 1996 Ford Taurus SHO. I got it in a trade for my 91 SHO from Jon Klein and decided to part ways with it. I'm just more of a fan of the Gen 1+2's. The exterior is Toreador Red and the interior is the dark tan leather. It hasn't been beaten or raced I know what's under the hood I don't have to prove anything to anyone it's just been my weekend rider/off and on daily driver. Drive to and from work is roughly 8 miles round trip and I occasionally venture up to Wilkes Barre which is all highway which is roughly 180 miles round trip. Car has 162,*** miles on the engine and body the trans has roughly 5k on it. He did the top end and cam weld on it with all new seals including the intake manifold o rings and gaskets and oil cooler gaskets. He also did a full tune up on it. Just had it inspected in PA in late december and put in a new motorcraft battery, both front wheel hub bearings and passenger side ball joint to pass. Also had the oil changed and fluids topped off. Tires and brakes have plenty of life left on them. Everything works on this car every bulb every accessory every feature works fine. Has the 6 disc changer in the trunk it had the JBL system but the owner before him ripped it out and put in pioneer speakers and left the JBL tweeters on the doors...not quite as deep sounding as a nice JBL or Mach system but decent nonetheless. A/C and heat both work just fine and have no problems getting either up to temperature. Runs and drives strong and sounds nice handles great it has the electronic suspension. Not a speck of rust on this car anyplace the body and body panels are sound. Now for the bad and less convenient. Both bumpers will need to be painted. The front must've been resprayed at some point the clear is pealing off right above the grille the picture shows it kind of. The rear bumper has been clocked a few times lightly but enough to rub paint off near the license plate well and it's spidering up near the tail light. The bumpers themselves though are solid and intact just need refinishing. There is a key scratch on the drivers side nice little squiggle from the door handle to the middle of the back door. I'm gonna try and buff it out when I get the time to get it in my shop but idk how much i'll be able to remove as it is a key mark. It's not even that noticeable but it annoys me. There is also a small dent on the very bottom of the passenger side rear door below where the last body bubble is and is barely noticeable from any angle. The hood looks like it has a few hail dings in it but they can be easily popped out again I just haven't gotten time to do them. Besides that the paint is in great shape no other scratches or dings anywhere and beads up water like crazy all the time even between washes every time it rains and even when it's dirty...I think the paint must have some protection on it and it helps keep the car clean the pictures I took of it were after the 40 inches of snow PA got in February and it barely looks dirty it beads and rolls right off. The drivers seat has a rip on the butt part but it's small and it's not spreading or getting any worse I had my works upholsterer give me an estimate and to replace that patch of leather wasn't too expensive I just figured it didn't bother me enough since I never see it since that's where I sit. Besides that the leather is in great shape though. The power antenna doesn't go down all the way (see pictures) but will go up all the way. The radio reception is just fine it's just a minor inconvenience never really bothered me since I'm used to cars that either have them broken where they're up all the way always or fixed mast antennas. The rear driver's side shock is leaking but it doesn't effect ride quality and it still works fine but it should probably be replaced soon they passed it for inspection though. It probably will need a catalytic converter the MIL triggered a catalytic deficiency code that gradually got worse. I'd reset the light and it would stay off for varied amounts of miles but now it triggers right as the monitors come back up fully. Jon says he has one he can give me along with the shock that I will include with the car they are generally easy to replace it's a direct swap of the y pipe couple bolts and you're done. That pretty much sums up this SHO. All in all I'd say it's in good shape...great shape mechanically decent shape cosmetically. If you want a complete SHO that'll treat you right this is the one. Besides the cat this thing never gave me any troubles and rides and runs smoothly. It handles snow very well for being a Taurus and if it gets a little stuck it has plenty of power to un-stick you. The only thing I wish it had were chrome 5 stars instead of the aluminum ones but it's fine it still looks nice. The price is 3000 OBO. I will also consider trades for a long list of cars so if you have something you'd want to trade feel free to offer it to me. Gen 1+2 SHO's Jeep Cherokee/Grand Cherokee and P71 Crown Vic's are on the top of my list. Would prefer one that needs little to no work mechanically as I don't have a lot of money or time to fix them. Cosmetically like scratches and scuffs aren't a big issue to me that much it just has to be reliable. Feel free to ask me any questions or concerns anytime. Throw me some offers! Thanks for your time.
