also, I apologize that I am not a mechanic and do not have the proper terms or names of said parts, I am just a normal guy with a fairly good understanding of engines trying to get my SHO on the road for as cheap as possible ;)

I have not done this sort of thing in ages, and never on the Gen III SHO, but don't you have to line up the timing marks for all the cams? You might look about on V8SHO.com for a procedure.

Here, I found something for you (A timing "do it yourself" guide !) on V8sho.com :

http://www.v8sho.com/SHO/CamSprocketAlignment.htm

There are timing marks on sprockets. They all have a grooved circular hole (on the front cover side) and the cams have a round pin (on the the passenger end). You will have to simply place them pointing in the same direction (sprocket and cam). But I'm not sure it will resolve all your timing probs.

I'm very curious if your timing will be almost perfect with this and good luck again.

Thanks man! I actually found this this morning when looking it up. will put in more work on the car this week, I think I have it all figured out as long as my valves are aren't garbage, doesn't seem that the cam is that much out of position at all. only time will tell when I get it back together and fire it up! thanks for everyones help!
