Had the local Ford dealership diagnos a trans. that was run low on fluid. Parts needing replaced are:
* 5th gear drive output shaft E9DZ-7061-B
* 5th speed gear FZDZ-7K316-A
I was able to locate the two bearings that retain the output shaft along with the 5th gear drive bearing pre-load shim.
I am not sure where to turn to next. I have seen complete MTX's for sale on numerous sites in the $400.00 range. The trans. that I have that was run low on fluid only has 78,*** miles and the rest of the internals, besides what was mentioned above are in excellent condition.
Has anybody else here had an experience(s) that is similar to the one described above? And can anyone offer any suggestions on where I should be looking for these hard to find internals.
