well iv had my 1992 for about 2 months now and i dont think it is running up to par...it runs and starts great it just dont seem as fast as my last two SHOs and both of them were 1990s ..my 1992 has 213000 miles on it ..i was thinkin about rebuileding my moter ..what should i do?

I would pull the codes and see if you have anything.

Might also want to give it a 60k.

doing a complete 60K would cost at least $1500, on a car with 200K+ miles?? idk about that in my opinion, i would get an engine, probably already 60K'd, low miles, it'll cost you like $500

there are no codes everything works just kinda sluggish i want to get another moter that has less miles on it and put it in my car and just rebuiled the one thats in it

$1500 for a 60k !!!!!!!!! wow i was thinking of doing one on my sho '91 140000 mi. i bought it from a lot don't know if it's bene done already . don't want to spend 1500 if i don't have to any way to tell if it's bene done already ? thanx might be able to save alot of $$$$$$$ if it has bene done

$1500?? are you crazy? do the work yourself its not difficult at all and will cost you less than 500 if you get the parts yourself.

Check to see what your water pump looks like, and pull the plug wires off the plugs and see if there is any oil on them. If there is, than you definately want to do an upper 60K.

what does 200k has to do with buying new parts? i've priced it out its somewhere beetwen 400 and 600 + labor. What kinda mechanic are you going to?

i probably being one of the more mechanically handicapped on this forum have done a 60k tune up myself...not very hard to do...a service manual is your friend
