Even without the rebuilt motor trans and new clutch a cali car in the NE is a steal at that price it would seem as long as you want to drive it for the next ten years. That car is mint to me. If he doesn't have paperwork proving the work was done then don't believe a single thing he says. People make shit up all the time

I got a rust free 91 for 1500 from PA that needed a clutch, but I threw another motor in it that had new heads on it and all new gaskets, and rod bearings. The car had 81k miles IIRC.
