It fits the same but there are differences.
Like what? I need a new grill and I have found they are a dime a dozen. Some say Taurus, some say SHO, but I assume they are all the same since there are so many.

What are the differences?

Thanks.

Every body panel from a SLO is interchangable with the SHO.The shells are the same. The only issue is the bracing for the SLO hood because of the SHO motor.

I am probably wrong, but I thought the grill in a regualar Taurus had a trim strip arcoss the bottom of the grill that runs all the way across the grill from headlight to headlight and a SHO grill is smooth, no trim.

I`ll take a look tonight.I don`t see how they could be much different since they use the same lights, corners, fenders, etc.I doun`t doubt it,i`m just sure it would be VERY minor. There are alot of interchangable parts thru they years also. The Gen I and Gen II`s share back seats, floor pans, and i`ve even heard the doors are the same.

The doors on the Gen 1s and Gen 2s are the same. IIRC, they're the only exterior part on the Gen 2s that carried over after the redesign in '92.

I almost 100% sure that they will interchange, but most or maybe all of the regular Taurus's do have some kind of goofey trim strip across the bottom of the grill.

It shouldn't affect how the grill mounts, but if you put one of those grills with the trim strip on a SHO it would not be the correct part for a SHO. If it matters?

Well i`ll be darned,it does have a small strip. It won`t affect mounting at all,i think the SHO one may just have a little more room to flow air.I have to believe the strip may even come right off.
