do 17" rims fit a 91? the previous owner said he had difficulty putting on 17's on the car, what do you guys think? i need 17's to put the 13" baer brakes
I have 17X8 OZ Racing Superleggra with 235/45WR-17 on my 1991 SHO. Because the wheels are 8" wide and I wanted 235mm width tires I needed to roll the rear fenders to prevent constant rubbing. I might not have needed to roll the fenders if I went with 225/45-17, but I wanted the stuffed wheel well look. I still get a little rub when my suspension is fully compressed. With 7" wide wheels rubbing would not be a problem.
I'm sure your question has been answered. One piece of advice is to figure out if the rim/tire combo will fit BEFORE purchasing. Wheel/Tire companies usually void a return once a tire is mounted to a rim. Offset is crucial! Keep that in mind.
While you're looking around for wheels, I'd highly recommend taking a peek at SHO Nut's Pro Race 1 & 2 series wheels. Very hot!
