my SHO just celebrated its birthday with its new owner and i have a question on the tires

they were produced in 08/2014, tread is fine and no signs of dry rot on the tires I.E. crackling etc.

the only long drive I do is going to Miami to see my son. Wont drive the Shelby nor my 99 f 350 dually(just to big)

Are the tires fine or am I risking a blowout or other damagr

We do Automotive Testing for the Federal Government at work. Anything over 3 years is not valid for a test that tires will affect (handling, acceleration, etc.). Any tire over 5 years is not allowed to be used for any purpose. Use that knowledge as you wish.

Send it, you’re fine. I’m counting 2014-2021 as 7 yrs, but if you truly meant 14 years old, then send it (to a tire shop for replacement soon)

Most tire manufacturers suggest you inspect them at 6 years and replace at 10 years.

That being said, I have tires from 2012 on my 92 and I drive that thing like normal. 80-85 on the interstate daily. I can tell that they are a little harder than they should be but I am fine putting up with the little vibration that I get.

The big tire store chains will not work on tires over 10 years old. So 2012 or later production dates are still fine, especially since you report no signs of weather checking.

Radial tires don't "explode" they loose air.
You seem to know how to check your tire conditions and proper pressure?
Your good to go for a few more years (at least).
Suggestion; Put more miles on the SHO so you have to get new tires. lol

Hadn’t thought of that aspect
You could ignore the tire pressures and your tires will wear out quicker. lol
My '91 used to suffer from too much oversteer so I use 4ibs. less of air in the rears and I get a much more neutral result. I'm not sure if all SHO's react the same but I get good results from 32-1/2 frt, 28-1/2 rear.
SUb-frame connectors, Quaife, Front '96 brake upgrade, 225x55 tires all around.
250K miles and the heads have never been off. Yet.
Best to all.

That would work. Are you correcting for over steer?
I like to leave an allowance for heat build up. When cold I get a little roughness but a couple of miles on the hwy. and it smooths out pretty nice and gives good contact with the road with even wear across the treads and of course when the right side pedal gets closer to the floor the heat builds up even more. lol

Plus the rear of these cars is so light that if you run more than 28-30 in the rear you get all the wear at the center of the tread.
