OK..?? Are there Only Gen 1's out there?? Has NO one already done the '96 upgrade?? LoL Alot to consider....That's why the "option" is there.:thumb: In fact there are 2 options...1 for used knuckles at the price you posted $190.00, and a 2nd for Rebuilt knuckles for $315.00. :thumb:

shobros, what would the price be for just the brackets?
Todd, what is the price for the 12" 2 peice rotors? and could the hats be used to upgrade to 13" rotors with the standard cobra brackets?

We are still looking into it as it not very easy to do as the calipers and brackets come as a unit. It leaves us with parts that we cant use.

Is there a reason you want just the brackets? Just so we know whats going on and work things out.

The 12" kits for a Gen1 does require knuckles unless you have previously upgraded them.

First off, I always thought that the "12" inch upgrade was just 11.6" rotors w/ Cobra calipers....if I'm wrong please tell me what type of rotors are used / where I can get them.

Secondly, and no offense because I really like most of your merchandise, but why is $620 a "sale" price for this upgrade. New Mach 1 calipers, brackets and pads are $190 shipped to your door, new rotors range between $25 and $45 a piece at any parts store, and the machine shop work to the brackets couldn't cost more than $100 for both. $450 + shipping would be much more reasonable and probably still net you $100 profit on each kit sold. Also, why are used knuckles $190 :oogle:

I really like what you guys are offering, I just want to know why the markup on this brake kit seems so high??

The 12" kit is a 12" not a 11.6". They are turned down 13" rotors.

The price is because of turning down the rotors, machining the brackets, engraving "SHO" into them, and painting them. They originally cost $700.

We dont get much profit out of it.

I think you would be hardpressed to find a shop to do both brackets and the rotors for $100.

That makes sense, I wasn't aware the rotors were turned down and re-drilled 13-inch pieces.

I would rather have a price cut than SHO on them though :thumb:

Yup, when I was looking for a shop to cut down 13" rotors to 12.5" I couldn't even find anyone to do it. Once place said they'd have to see the rotors first, and even then it would be "several hundred".

I went with 2 piece rotors from Todd because it was the only option at the time that had a known price. The lighter weight was a very nice bonus too. ;)

I have already bought the cobra calipers. so, i would just need the brackets and rotors.
I have been meaning to do the 11.6 with pbr upgrade, but have not gotten around to haveing the brackets midified.

Sorry, I really thought that the rotors were really the 11.6" units from the 3rd gen. To my knowledge the 11.6" brakes will work with this setup though (1 forum member who I met at a local AutoX is running the setup.)
