Geez that looks great, do you happen to have the LED bulb part numbers, and is there some reason why you didn't do the tail lights?

I have removed them before and noticed they were sealed, thats why I asked you. I guess you can crack the seal open and swap out the light?

I've never uses a creeper on the inside of a car before, but seriously, the interior makeover is the bomb, as is the rear. I cant really make out the front as well but thanks for all the work. 10 minutes ago I didnt know such a thing could be done, now I cant live without it.

I wish I had paid more attention to how the puddle lamp covers come off when I was fixing the side mirror on my wife's 2010 MKZ. I do remember that it is possible to get to the bulb without dissecting the mirror, and I totally expect our mirrors to be the same. The bulb in hers was a regular incandescent like the interior bulbs. Those are not "halogen" bulbs, but that is a minor nit. I am a big fan of LEDs and do like the look you can get from a wide viewing angle LED or LED assembly.

For what it's worth, I've now plastic welded two side modern side mirrors together using a Harbor Freight plastic welder, some metal mesh, and a bit of patience. I'm impressed how easily these mirror "glass" comes out without breaking and how well a busted up mirror can weld back together. Both mirrors were nearly identical, one on the 2010 MKZ and one on a 2006 Fusion.

What site do you buy from?

You might want to check these out for the tails http://www.elef-usa.com/apps/webstore/products/category/339404 From the pics and videos I saw of these they are awesome. They will be just as bright or brighter than stock. Kind of the same principal as the new mustang and Chevy Malibu lights. Instead of an array of leds, it's just one led bulb. The only issue is the hyper fast blinkers unless you wire in a resistor.

Let us know what you find about the puddle lights. I want to swap leds in those.

OK dude I've got the guest bedroom just about finished, I figure looking at what you did to your Charger, and what you told us about your significant other...

... looks like you didn't learn much and I fear she's gonna see your mods statement and you'll be looking for somplace to live... :laugh_ti:

All BS aside... remarkable difference in those interior lights, sweet. I assume I can do this on my Gen2?

Looks good. Did you have any problems with the display saying "bulb out" from the replacement of exterior lights to LEDs?

Also, this should say Incandescent to LED bulb swap. Those lights you replaced aren't halogen. ;)

In American cars(don't know about new SHO) There is some kind of weired resistance on flashers, so YOu better messure that before you start putting LEDs into turn signals for proper resistors.

Yes, yes you can. I did mine last year.

Awesome job on the interior lighting, I know I love mine!

That's what I'm think'n, yes.

But, prior to doing this, I'd like to get the pricing (& availability) of a replacement set just in case things go awry.

This way I can have them readily available in case I screw up the working set.

Besides, I haven't been able to find, nor is it located in the owner's manual, the type of bulb that is housed in there.

If anyone knows, please feel free to chime in, as apparently I'm not the only one interested in finding out.

Once I get it all coordinated, then and only then will I attempt the mirrors. ;)

Parts are 13B374 from Ford. It says left but I dont think it really matters. $40 each so I will crack mine open and break them before I bother ordering replacements if I cant seal them back up.

Well, I opened it and the glue is drying now. I used a dremel (bad idea). The dremel melts the plastic and creates a nasty cut. I'm going to try the other side with a coping saw. The bulb is a 3022 bulb from superbrightleds.

I doubt it. They are sonic welded and the dremel just heats up the plastic so quick that it melts, spreads out along the cutting wheel, and solidifies quickly as soon as I turn the dremel off. I sealed this one up with some krazy glue and silicone until my LED lights comes. I am doing all the ones you did as well.

Some pics of mine. I ordered LED tails and turn signals but decided to leave the stocks for now. I am going to order a different type of bulb that throws light in 360 degrees as opposed to the one I ordered that only throws forward facing light.

I also didn't have the basket thing like you did. My setup was much simpler.
