i REEEEEAAAALY just wantto run the car on 25/75 nitromethane/alky ..... god how i want to

400 whp would become 600hp, then toss in some extra boost, spray the intercooler, add meth injection ... yummy :)

ok ok ok ...
75 shot
meth injection (6 port)
co2 intercooler sprayer
heatwrap the intake pipe
reinstall a steel hood, but gut it and vent it
same slicks

the new front bumper reinforcement setup
double up on the rear suspension blocks
bring extra gas in gas cans - not the gas tank
chop off unneeded body parts - toes are worthless, so are pinkies
install the other vband clamp
seal up exhaust leaks, double check at the track
replace the one cv shaft
better tune
more boost

idk what else ....

edit: oh yea .. an HRK intake manifold, and port match the exhaust manifolds , and fix the Y pipe for proper flow

and oh yea, the new motor mounts, the new tranny mount, fix the torque arms once and forall, fix the shift timing, and lets extrend the tranny pan using another tranny pan, and circulate coolant thru the (new) lower section to suck more heat out of the tranny fluid

I'm going to go against the grain right now but going from a 12.9 to a 11.9 is a big leap. Start to run some consistant 12s and go from there. It is not as easy as it is from going from a 15 ot a 14 or even a 14 to a 13. I'd also recommend the pistons for the extra assurance.

If you guys can afford to build up this SHO the way described, how can you not afford a set of pistons? I mean, adding a coolant system to the ATX using a second ATX pan etc plus CO2 cooler and meth injection plus all the small mod goodies isnt exactly cheap either...

i just want spray and meth for the track then once i hit my goal (or blow the tranny) i'm moving onto my next project involving a SHO, a cobra, and a windstar (sport)

MY advice, get pistons. THen you can run 22+psi no problem, trust me!

I don't want to get pistons because then I would run high boost all the time and the tranny will die again. just for a coupe min a week i want to go fast. do you think 10psi and 75 shot is too much?

Meh, just build up a 3.3 and have it sitting in the garage. Then go to the track with a tow truck and boost the **** out of the old motor .

well mo0st of that stuf has to be done before the car can properly harness the current power, let alone extra power, and anything that has to be built from steel i can do for the cost of electricity

the most expensive things there are nitrous (borowed at first) co2 ... no more expensive then a nitrous kit, and meth, which we would have to build custom anyways, because it would have to be multiport , and a buying it premade would be a waste of money

I can too, but that isn't always something to brag about.
Again, start running consistant low 12's and then worry about running high 11's. Until then it is just speculation Low 12's and even mid 12's would be a record right there so shoot for that first and then aim for the 11's. It is easy to add up this stuff on paper, but applying the mods on the strip are 2 different things.

ok ok ok

runs 1-3 = high 12's
runs 4-6 = mid 12's
7-9= low 12's
10-12 = 11s

we wont shoot for 11's till the end of the day at the track :) :) :)

and oh yea, while we are doing the other stuff we should pull the A/C pump, fab a bracket to replace it, and put the alternator on a switch so it doesnt draw any hp while the car is running down the track ....

edit: and another thing ... coil on plug setup .... beause double the spark equals double the horsepower (all these mods add up to 1938 ricer hp so far)

Someone on here did a test and the COPs were not as powerful as the standard setup. It would work fine on a stock SHO but no sufficient on a f/i SHO. I don't remember the COPs used though...

A guy i race with on friday nights has a street legal prelude , its a 4 cyl with a single turbo, last friday he set a new best of 139mph and went 11.01 he only runs the boost no nos granted its 30 ibs of boost hahah. im amazed at his tranny he squeels the slicks threw the first 3 gears like crazy and he said the only mod to the tranny is the quaife, every week end i think it must be time to blow up , but the thing keep making pass after pass, point of the story if he can get almost 10s i think a SHO can get high 11s. in a front wheel drive its all a matter of traction off the line, i know a guy getting 113+ mph in the quarter in his SHO and his best pass to date is only a low 13, 113 is deep 12s high 11s MPH if you can get off the line.

Alex.

Perform all possible bolt ons then think about making it into a serious track car (PS pump as mentioned by HRK, ect)

Get your car into some LIGHT wheels and Get some wheel spacers and some WIDE sticky tires. Jack the rear end up to add more weight to the front. Put some unclipped moogs out back.

SHAVE weight, weight losses are immeasureable. Shedding 200 pounds of interior in my ATX was a WORLD of difference. Not only handling but acceleration.

Dial you suspension in for almost NO camber up front. Keep about -.3 to -.4 degrees just to prevent a pull, Cause insufficient camber will cause a pull or drift.

Tune the car like crazy. 17-18PSI when tuned correctly should hold up no problem. Or just get some pistons and push 20 plus pounds, But dont let the pistons be the reciving end of a poor tune, Even though they are forged they can still break.
