A tranny failure is easily fixed at at least half the price. I don't think getting AX4N parts will ever be a problem or getting people to rebuild them either. Rebuilding a SHO V8 will be very costly and difficult to say the least.

Data that I have been able to review from "official"sources would support that there is no pat answer to mileage. lo milers have toasted cams, cars less than 30 days old have toasted cams, and a few go 100K+ with no incident. Unless your just feelin lucky, weld em, pin em or most likely lose em.stephen newberg:
Looking at the milages from the data you made available on V8.SHO.com (I think it was you), I would suggest not waiting much longer than 50,000 miles. But sooner is certainly safer.
