Finally got my BC Coilovers but I’ve ran into a bit of an issue. First issue is I ordered this set thinking it had adjustable camber plates but it came with fixed top hats… Second issue, the box says 09-12 Flex. Now I know the Flex and Taurus share a lot of similar designs, but according to the box the spring rate for the Flex is 6k front 14k rear instead of 6k front 8k rear which it states on their site for the Taurus. Also BC themselves marked the Coilovers incorrectly from left to right… Oh yeah sway bar end links don’t fit as the hole is too small, needs to drilled out to a larger diameter. Lastly, anyone knows which orientation the top hat is supposed to face? I noticed there’s a notch which is supposed to indicate which way to have it orientated but nowhere in the manual or online does it state which way is correct.

Says FL (Front Left) but clearly is the front right according to the sway bar end link mount.

This is the correct one but this coilover is marked FR (Front Right).

There’s two ways of mounting this and I have no idea which way is correct. Took two measurements from both mounting options and there’s a clear difference in how the coilover is orientated from one or the other. Took measurements from body to coilover body, and there’s about a inch difference.

In conclusion I am severely disappointed in BC Racing so far and I haven’t even installed them… Pretty bummed as I always thought they were a good brand.

I’m just going to ask the obvious…did you contact them? If they advertise a set specifically for a taurus, and sent you parts for a flex, it could just be a clerical error. Have them send you the correct set rather than re-fab the wrong set up/“make it work”. If it is just some ******** they pull on everyone, I’d return them and go with a different supplier.

That's the most sensible thing I've read all day.

Aha yeah I started to tackle the install today before I ran into all these issues. Seeing how’s its Sunday and they’re closed and my car is all apart figured I’d ask on here to see if someone else ran into the same issue until I can contact who I ordered it from.

Ahh, I gotcha. I wasn’t trying to be a smart ass, I know I get in “wtf” mode in those situations and don’t think about shit like that. Hopefully they just goofed. It’s a silly oversight, but it does happen.

The is is the email I got back from the place I ordered it from (Coiloverdepot).

It looks like our listing was outdated, the Flex kit is the Taurus kit for that year. BC has some conflicting information on their older application sheets. It lists the kits as a RA, but is also marked as camber plates not available, most of our listings were made back when that sheet was in use and used the RA / RS info to assign camber plates. Also the spring rates are 6K front 14K rear. The rates on the page must have been copied from other listings and never updated.

BC does not have a camber plate for those kits. I updated the photos, BC's own site actually is also using the same photos we had which are incorrect
