Hi all

I have experienced a tremendous loss of mpg and my check engine light comes on periodically. This happens mostly during acceleration and deceleration. Car also stalls when it goes down to idle speed.

Any Ideas

Thanks
John

What you will want to do first is to check the codes your computer is telling you. This is very simple...here are some instructions:

http://www.shophoenixproject.com/eec/eec.htm

That will yeild to probably showing you what your problems are. Which most likely do include your o2 sensors.

What is the condition of your SHO, has it had it's 60k?

Hi Doug, thanks for the quick reponse. I just got the car last month, along with all documentation including every oil change since it was new. I do see the 60k service, performed in 1999. It is a 1995 ATX with 142,000 on it now, it looks and runs great. When I come to a light after it is warmed up, it occasionally stalls, the idle will go down to a near stall, jump up to 900rpm for a second, then stall.

What does it say was done? 60k is defined by different people different ways.

Your first step needs to be to check the codes, and see what the car is saying.

every time my dads 95 SES flashed, I could get no codes... Even with scanner in wiggle mode while driving. My symptoms are the same as his except 02's are new, secondary ign new. But mine didnt stall. Id check IAC for your stall, or possibly a fuel related issue.
