    Ok, got the tranny apart... Most of the bearings look great.... but a couple aren't so smooth running. Where can I find part #'s for the bearings... a couple of them don't have numbers visible. (like the differential bearings)

    I am getting ready to crack the case on my MTX that is making a ungodly screeching sound. I am assuming it is some bearing inside. My question is what is the correct way to open the case... face down, face up, sideways ?? I don't want parts falling out all over the place when I open it...

    I have two mysterious noises coming from my engine bay... The creaking noise happens when I turn left (the noise is in the left side also) when I am stopped. Another thing is when I start off, either backing up or forward. I makes a "thunk"ing sound, once. each time I start off. It happens...

    Ok, before the clutch replacement the alignment was ok...no bad wear.. But I did replace the tie rod ends... Everything else seems to be ok. Since that work was done, thats when the wear started occurring... Would the springs be dead after just turning 100,000 miles??? here is what it is set...

    They showed me the machine that aligns it... and I have it wrote down at work.. They had a 90-91 Taurus on the screen to set the alignment... and most of them were in the green... except for the camber.... it doesn't have anymore adjustment to it... This is all on stock suspension also...

    Gotcha, I've never looked under the caps... Thats exactly what they did. I guess they did their job....(but $20 to cut the welds??) I should have done it before I took it up there....Oh well.. thumbs_u

    I took the SHO into the shop yesterday to get the front end aligned. On my bill it had a charge of $20.00 to cut the pinch welds???... Where would a pinch weld be that would concern the alignment???.. Or are they trying to pull a fast one?

    Got the SHO back out of the shop yesterday....ahhh....feels much better.. Like a new car again.. The GM SynchroMesh tranny fluid works great (at $10.00 a quart it aught to).. Much smoother than before. It did affect reverse a little If I hold the clutch in for a second I don't need to put it...

    I got the GM Synchromesh stuff, I saw in another forum where a guy in a Toyota was complaining about the shift into reverse grinding.     I had the same problem when I changed my timing belt and other stuff....turns out it was flooded.. Hold your foot on the floor and try it then. I'm not kidding...it took me three days to figure that out..., and it was just flooded... :rolleyes:

    thx.. Someone also just told me about using some GM SynchoMesh fluid..said it works great..
