Need a new PTU drain plug

To clarify, I am talking about the factory OEM drain plug needing to be replaced. My apologies for the confusion. Anybody know the FoMoCo part number by chance?

Need some help with remote start issues

My remote start hasn’t worked since I installed the high flow cats, which causes the CEL to stay on. I‘m pretty sure there is deep embedded programming that won’t allow the remote start to function if any type of anomaly is detected. CEL’s and tuning are probably two of those. some type of...

Need a new PTU drain plug

Went to change my PTU fluid, and yada, yada, yada…I need a new drain plug. Does anyone know the specs for these plugs, or better yet, where to get a replacement? I’m not having a lot of luck finding them online.

    EPP CAI IAT sensor installation

Done and done! Thanks for the feedback, everyone. I did slice a little off the end of the rubber tube, and also removed the O-ring from the IAT sensor, along with snipping off the locking tab. Yeah, it’s definitely not coming out now. It’s been a long time coming, but my build out is complete...

    EPP CAI IAT sensor installation

Thanks, all! I'm heading out there now to give it a go. I'll keep you posted. This will be the end of my SHO build project, so I'm very excited to get this done and go for a test drive. I'll post up everything when it's all buttoned up and good to go.

    EPP CAI IAT sensor installation

I’m almost finished installing EPP hot pipes and their dual CAI system. Question - How is the IAT sensor supposed to work with the filter? The filter has the small rubber tube sticking out from the heat shield, and I can only get the IAT sensor to fit into that about half of the way. So I...

    Slightest burnt oil smell

I am 99.9999% certain it isn’t the PTU. For one, I’ve checked that as well, and it’s dry as a bone. For two, the gear oil inside of it gives off a propane/gear oil smell. What I’m smelling is definitely motor oil. The way it comes into the cabin for that brief time, I just feel like it’s...

    Slightest burnt oil smell

2016 PP SHO. It does have a tune, Stainless Works complete exhaust, JLT oil separator/catch can, and AFE Power cold air intake. Approximately 73,000 miles on the ODO. Over the last few months, when I come to a stop, take off from a stop, start the car, or even turn sometimes, I will...

    Trans & PTU fluid change

Yep. Totally depends on which PTU setup you have. Mine - changing my PTU fluid is actually easier than changing my oil. But it still takes about an hour. I’ve installed an extension into the engine compartment from the vent ******. I simply remove the drain plug, flush the old fluid out...

2016 PP brake OEM part number check

I'm looking to replace my brakes, and also to get the new caliper/brackets powder coated. Before I pull the trigger and order everything, I would like confirmation from you brake experts that I'm purchasing the correct parts: 2016 Taurus SHO w/ PP - FRONT DG1Z-2001-F...

Rear Suspension Toe Links Fracture - Recall 20V0720000

I'm dropping my SHO off at the dealership tonight for them to do the recall tomorrow. I'm also having them update the SYNC while it's there. I'll report back on anything noteworthy. II

    PTU failure

Sorry. My mistake. It wasn't Menard's where I bought the Gate's hose. They had the cheaper stuff I had purchased for another project. It was NAPA that had Gate's. 3' of hose to start is good to get it routed like you want, then you can cut it to whatever length you desire. II

    PTU failure

I went to my local Menard's and bought 3' of Gates fuel line hose, 5/16" ID. Get a good quality hose. The cheaper ones aren't very flexible, and you need that so that it can be as straight as possible going up to the top of the engine compartment. I also bought an appropriately sized worm...

    PTU failure

Today I replaced my stock PTU vent hose with an extended version. Life is SOOOOOO much simpler now! Changing the PTU gear oil will be a piece of cake from now on, even though a little time consuming. Replacing the hose was actually a lot more straight forward than I expected. Letting the...

    Blew out my inter-cooler pipe

Didn't think it would happen, but it did. I went to accelerate the other day, and I hear a loud pop from the engine, and for a quick second the RPM's shoot up, but I'm really not moving. As I ease off the gas, the car seems to drive okay, so I slowly make my way back home (only a couple miles)...

    Installed AD torque mounts. WOW

I absolutely LOVE these things! It makes it feel like an entirely different car now. So much more planted and tied down. After driving it now, it is simply amazing how bad the car was with the stock mounts. Something you just have to experience to understand for certain. Kudos to you...
