I am considering getting out of the SHO business after 17 years :omgsho:

The SHO I own now is a gutted 89 SHO thats very heavily modded.

ITS STRICKLY A TRACK CAR ...

I just put a new 1st gear syncro in the tranny ... it has a brand new race clutch from Doug L ... that can take up to 400 hp ... the engine runs like a scalded dog and the equipment this car has is alot more than what I could list below.

The engine alone is worth at least $1500-2000 and the tranny that has a quaife is prob worth around $500-1000. I havent kept up on prices of parts and really dont want to part this car out ..... so this is a tenedered offer. In other words if I dont get what I think the car is worth than I probably wont sell it ... be in it pieces or as a whole.

The reason why I am selling it is 2 fold. 1) I just dont use it. I have used the car over the past 4 years 3 times. Twice at Sebring Int Speedway and at auto cross event in Gainsville about 4 years ago.

The car is totally gutted and should weigh under 3000 pds. It has a Cinncy Cowl hood and a police grill. The car also has the larger radiator which helps keep things cool. I have plexiglass almost everywhere. The bottom I have put sheet metal underneath it to make it more aerodynamic at high speed. On the track you wont find many faster cars. I run in HDPE 3 class and rarely do I get passed ... and I mean rarely. Last time out at Sebring with a ton of new mods ... I started off in HDPE I and II .... I was lapping people twice so they moved me up. THATS HAULING ASS MY FRIENDS! This car corners like a rail and runs flat out on the straight aways.

I will trailer the car to its final destination along with lots of spare parts ... ie ... extra trannies ... different size sway bars .... tons of spare nuts and bolts .... I have a quaife installation tool ... all the how to videos ... all the manuals ..... a rotonda code reader .... the largest shim collection in the SE United States .... speciality tools and the list goes on and on.

I was hopping to head to one last convention but the second reason I am selling the car is: 2) my other "race car" is a ShelbyGT500 and I am trying to generate enough capital to buy a new 2009 Shelby GT500KR.

Pictures are available upon request ....Those who have been looking for the fastest track SHO in the US ... look no further. If I was going to keep the car i might have considered to get a blower with a small amount of boost so I could go to HDPE IV .... One can never have too much power !!!

I just quickly added up on a calculator if I was to part the car out with all the goodies .. ie race seats ... 5pt race harness ... sunpro race gauges .. water and oil temp ... the motor .. tranny ... suspension componets .... adj rear control arms .. 13 inch Cobra rotors ... Police grill .... Cinncy Cowl hood .... heavy duty motor mounts ... etc ...etc.. etc .... I could go on and on.

Just parting the car out and selling some of my diagnostic equipment .. manuals .. spare parts ... I could sell this parts for and still have the shell for sale for over $6000 + but I will let it go for $4999. This includes the car ... hauling it to someone ( within reason guys ! ) and all the spare parts .. manauls ...etc

Hopefully someone else can put my SR 72 too better use than collecting dust in my garage !!!!:thankyou:

ive seen this car in person and its quite amazing.
tons of mods and quick as ****!

Buy it Brian!!!
I built my 94 to resemble this car as much as possible with the exception of a cage right now. Good Luck Don, don't sell it...you will regret it as I did when I sold my 91. Do you really want to beat up a newer car or your dedicated track car and get the looks like what the **** is in that Taurus?!?

I do have second thoughts about selling the Sr72. I could never replace with it all the work that I have done to get it where its at now. And **** ... it could be faster with a good tune HA!

If I sell it fine. If i dont ... obviously I will use it like I have been. Once every year or so

You mention the engine is modded... what upgrades does it have?

Where do i start ?

The motor is a 3.2 motor that I bought myself and converted to its current status. The motor should have about 90,000 actual miles on it.

I had Doug Lewis port and polish the heads and had installed SI over sized race valves. The cams are josh .40 over. The runners are all port matched to the heads. I also have Joshes adjustable sprockets. The intake is polished and ported with BBB butterflies. I am using a ATX cross over tube that I think allows higher end breathing. I had Doug L port and polish the exhaust manifold and I am running a high flow Y pipe.

I have the SHO SHOP CAI and running a 155 lph fuel pump. The car has underdrive pulleys and a lightened flywheel. With the tranny presently out of the vehicle getting a new 1st geat syncro ... I will upgraded and installed one of Doug L high performance clutches.

I have no a/c compressor which means no parasitic loss of pwr.

I am sure i am leaving things out but thats about it. I would expect with a good tune and the cams adjusted the motor would pull close to 300 hp and in its lightened state ... as others have professed it HAULS ASS.
Best attribute of the car though ?? Is its handling. This car is on RAILS on a road course .... heres a link to some pictures of the car

how much are u lookin to get, and whats been done to it? thanks:omgsho::omgsho:

Well ... lets put it this way. If i were to part the car out and sell the parts and still be left with the shell .... I would easily get $6000 + for it.

I dont want to do that. I didnt build this car for that reason. In a earlier post above I want to get $4900 out of it.

Whats been done to it ? Well ... better question what hasnt been done to it.

Handling ... is second to none ... all upgraded and chassi stiffened. Bigger 13" brakes upfront ... heavily modded motor .... quaife tranny ... complete roll cage with race seats and 5 pt race car harness .... and lots lots more

The sale of the car includes : the car .... my shop manuals ..... my Ford shop code reader .... my shim collection .. bigger sway bars for fast tracks so the car wont rotated .... smaller sway bars for a small course so the rear end WILL rotate ... "can u say ... SWING " ...... I have tons of spare parts ... specility tools etc etc etc

I think you should keep the SHO. BTW, have you given any thought to the 2010 GT500? 540hp/510tq

If i dont get what I think is fair I wont sell it Toolman.

Regarding the 2010 GT500 @ 540 crank hp ... thats a real simple thing to do. The 07-09 cars dyno at 420 - 450 rwhp. With a tad more of an aggresive tune .... nothing else your at those numbers.
