Installing Earl's Stainless Brake Lines.. Few Questions

I have never replaced a brake line on any car in my life so this is something alien to me. It looks pretty simple but of all people, I know that will be my famous last words.

So, how exactly do I go about installing these hard lines to my SHO? What extra supplies will I need (besides brake fluid)? Anything problematic I should look out for while doing this swap?

Make sure you are using the right size very snug fitting wrenches flare wrench's would be a great idea as well. Its a pretty straight forward job you may need to file out the brackets a little to get the lines to fit in the mounting hole. A round file or a dremel will do great in this situation. Wouldn't be a bad idea to soak the fitting in *********** oil a few times prior to doing the job.

Yup, TONS of PB blaster, and USE FLARE WRENCHES don't use open end box wrenches, there is a good chance you'll strip it. The biggest tool of all is patience, don't force it or you will end up snapping the metal line or breaking/stripping something. PB blaster, give it a good turn, if it doesn't come off, pb it again and wait a little longer, then repeat until it comes off

can you get those things separate? I had a VERY hard time getting them separate last time I looked. anyone got a link or something to order some?

Make DAMN sure those lines stay well clear of the wheel once installed. I ended up in the median of the freeway rather than rear-ending a stopped car at 70+ when my drivers' front line popped. Seems the wheel weight was whacking the line every time it went by...

Cool. Thanks guys! I might be installing these this weekend while I visit the NebSHO guys at the SORC this weekend.

Any word on new banjo bolt washers that can be had by themselves? Can I go to a NAPA and buy one that is identical to the stock one but not necessarily for the Taurus?

Buy the crush washers at a parts store. Use a rat tail file to open up the bracket. Be careful to not have any sharp bends and keep the lines clear of the wheels when they are compressed and turned. You might not want to use the bracket that attaches to the rear strut.

i used a little PTFE tape or plumber's tape around the threads when i did mine.
