hello, for those that don't know I put a SHO motor in my Honda Prelude, I finally got a chance to put it on the road this weekend but the car has no power above 2500rpm, it sounds like the fuel is not picking up.

the only modification to the engine side is the dual rail fuel system controlled with a Mallory FPR and stock fuel pump. I'm not getting any MIL. The fuel pressure was set by putting a vacuum gage on the intake. The reading at idle is 20 inches, I set the fuel pressure between 28-30psi.

The only other things I can think of is the exhaust is too big. Any help please.

Check the plug Wells for any oil or water, and also check that the wires are routed correctly. If you used a Chilton manual at all its wrong.

Your Fuel pressure should be ok.

I put up the fuel pressure, runs a lot better. I was wondering because I went from a 255lpg pump to a stocker and it read the same pressure, but the FPR needed a few turns in, can't wait to get the supercharger on.

Oh OK, Thought you may have did the formula? Its half the vac minus 39 psi. But if you just set it at 28-30 its too low. It should be at 39 with the vac line unplugged.

yea I forgot to set it with the FPR vacuum disconnected. Had to look up the procedure again in the shop manual. Thanks

The best way to do it is to measure the vac and the fuel pressure at the same time with the car running. Then adjust the FPR to the correct PSI using the forumla I have posted above. This is what I though you did the first time.

I still think the fuel pressure I have set is wrong, according to shonut's website

"29 psi (rail) = 39 psi + (-20/2 psi (manifold)). IOW, you should see 29 psi at the rail with 20 inches of vacuum (-10 psi) on closed throttle decel"

so either my fuel pressure gage is off or my vacuum gage is off, I do have 4 of them and they are all reading 20 inches of vacuum at 1000 rpm idle 28-30 psi at the rail is correct. So I did have that set correct but why did it give me a sluggish engine on the road, any thoughts?

One thing I am thinking is the pressure inside the gas tank, I eliminated the evap system from the Honda and I'm thinking the fuel tank is not building enough pressure above the fuel line, any thoughts?

The last thing I'm thinking is the dual rail system is messing with things, without the fuel dampener the fuel pressure is varying, any thoughts?

the car runs fine now, I drove it to work today, like I said I cranked up the pressure another 10psi, I think my gage could be off.
