Let me preface by stating that this is a 3.0L , not a 3.2L nor 3.3L.

Stock 3.0L short block with 8.5:1 Wiseco Pistons.
T-trim blower w/2.8” Reichard pulley.
Dual Core Water/Air intercooler.
Conservative timing curve and tune.
Mix of 5 gals of 93 octane and 5 gals of 100 VP (just for a little insurance).

Notes about the pull:
The wavy HP/TQ lines above ~6K RPM is caused by a slightly slipping SC belt. Datalog shows a variation of 1.5 psi that matches the up/down waves.
I cut timing to 0 degrees by 7500 RPM to protect the T-trim impeller from overspinning.
The “red” dotted line represents my commanded 11.7:1 AFR (dyno operator confirmed a 0.6-0.7 AFR difference between his tail sniffer and actual AFR at the manifolds). I've since corrected the >12.0:1 AFR above 7K RPM.

Can you get a wider belt with more grooves. I have a friend that overheated and broke the shaft on his supercharger because the belt started slipping too much. All he did was change his pulleys to accept a 12 rib belt I believe and got rid of the slip problem.

I like I like! Very nice torque curve! How much boost were you running? Comparing my last dyno, your tq curve is kicking my butt past 5500rpms.

I just sent this link to a (chebby nova guy) friend of mine who swears up and down that there is no way a SHO engine will produce 500CHP. I hope he cries a little.

Sweet run! :thumb:

Very nice numbers Ransom... Me wants a 2.8 pulley now! Although, it think I can still get close to that number with some tuning on my current pulley.

There were already plenty of dyno examples posted ;-)

IMPRESSIVE, very nice numbers, :hail:

I do believe you won't have any trouble doing what we talked about. Are you ready for Maxton? I wish I could fly out for that one. Talk to you soon.

Ernie

Finally started mine today, surprised me it started after about three revs of the motor, first try.

The dyno operator said that he was going to post the video on youtube. I haven't seen it yet (blocked here at work). He video'd my 2nd pull, which I stopped that pull at ~7K.

I've found that there isn't "that much" difference between the 3.0" and 2.8" pulley, other than where the boost happens. I have to stop at 7400 RPM because the risk of overspinning the impeller, where as a 3.0" pulley can go to 7900 RPM. Considering only numbers: 2.8" pulley will give you a little more TQ , while a 3.0" will give you a little more HP

Since the blower is crank pulley driven, you can't change it. Yes, 6 rib blower pulleys suck.

The car is just about ready, it's all the safety gear. They made a change in our rules this year, I must have a full door net now ....

See, it's meant to be that you start working on your SHO again. :)

I'm only using a 3.2" pulley right now and I think I can get it in the 460whp range if I add some fuel up top and add timing with the water injection. I haven't done much tuning (to read NONE) since my dyno as most of my power is unusable (438whp) anyway. I am also venting boost at 15 PSI. Un-vented got 17 PSI at 8k RPM, however, it dropped fuel after 15 PSI as it was tuned with the limiting valve.

Those are good numbers and it may inspire me to throw some higher octane fuel in and get better numbers. My dyno was on 91 octane.

Stroud Racing made mine, they should have the measurements, design pattern I sent them for mine. If need be I can pull mine and send it to you, you'll have to weld in mounts for it. Do you have to have the lateral head restraint and Hans Device?

would you wanna let me in on some more info/ pics of your car Ransom? As in exhaust, blower, fuel system?

im starting to piece together parts for the build.

btw the graph looks like its showing your commanded afr as about 12.25:1

The “red” dotted line represents my commanded 11.7:1 AFR

As they say, picture says a thousand words. This is a graph of the datalog from TwEECer. You can clearly see the belt slippage.
