My understanding is that they work, but the led color is different from what the early cars had stock.

Dang... that's a good question. I know it'll work in a gen 2... but I have no idea on a gen 1. I don't see why it shouldn't work.

Even better, though, is to get an old gen 2 EATC with the buttons pushed out and solder the face plate of said hard-button EATC onto the old one. It's a very straight-forward procedure if you're handy with a gun. SOLDER GUN! lol jeez guyz.

Yea, I dont really mind if its a slightly different color. I plan to replace the factory radio anyways so the color matching thing isnt too important. My main concern was that all of the operations would work correctly and it would be plug and play or as close to it as possible...... Im pretty handy but I am not a soldering expert by any means. Id be afraid id just break the two eatcs trying to swap faces. -Karson

Hmm. IIRC the Gen 1 89's at least was very differnt in mount & connectors than the Gen 2 units..
I thought the 90 used the same EATC as the 89.

Nah, the 89 has its own special climate control setup. Cosmetically the 90-95 looked almost the same but I knew there were minor differences. Some of which i were afraid were plug related or something on the back of the unit itself. Im bidding on this unit then. I hope it works! -Karson
