slo gauge cluster in a SHO

if I swap a slo gauge cluster in my SHO will the speedo read correctly? I am curious to see how fast the needle will sweep ona 85mph cluster :angelnot:

no it wont, itll think its got the 140mph speedo so itll look like ur goin realllll slow:rofl:

Above post is wrong, cluster will go in and work fine.

I thought the cluster was run by a cable, and there was a small gear in the transmission that had to be changed to make it work right/ Or is that gear in the cluster?

No. It'll work fine, I had a friend that did just the opposite in a mustang 5.0, The car came with an 85mph speedo and he swaped it out with a 140 speedo from a junkyard and it was still accurate.

I never thought of going backward though, that would be interesting to see.:nut:

I think it will put into perspective how fast this car really is to SLO owners. and i'll burry the gauge in 2 gears :laugh_ti: in less than 10 seconds

You should cut a slit on the bottom of the cluster housing so the needle wont stop below 85. That way we can see how many rotations the needle will go. :lol:


Damn how fast we going? Oh, about 3 and a 1/4 turns. :p
