Add infoLet me start off by telling what has been done. First off I had a MC leak at the bottom and I needed new front brakes. Saturday I take it to my brake guy at Les Schwab who has been doing all my brake work for many years. I had them replace that MC and a complete front brake job. New calipers, rotors, and pads. The rear were done about 5 months ago. I get it back all is good until Monday night. I am sitting at a red light and notice the pedal is slowly going down. Hmmm so I pull in to a gas station and pop the hood and sure as @#$% the MC is half empty. I top off the MC and go home. The MC was full when I got it back. The MC is not leaking or any of the calipers and wheel cylinders. What could the fluid possibly be going?

The MC was just replaced as well as the CC disengagement switch. I've looked and felt all around the MC and no leaks there. It's going back to the shop tomorrow to be checked out...

ATX has a CC cancel, MTX does not. Which tranny do you have?

Leak Found

OK, heres the skinny. I was under the impression that the CC switch was replaced with the MC. That was not the case. The fluid is leaking from inside the switch out the bottom and running down the wiring harness. Does anybody know a P/N for the CC switch mounted under the MC. If I go to the Dealer I'll have to wait til Monday.

It's being sucked into the brake booster, if it's not leaking from somewhere else.

Just an FYI for those who are still using the old style.

You hit it right on the nail. I just picked it up from Ford. They have replaced the old style switch with an improved one. He ran my VIN to see if there was a recal on it but there was'nt. They have replaced the old one with a new one due to potential fire hazzard. He said the fires are more common on the F series trucks but has seen a few with the Taurus. The new style comes with an adapter cable which plugs into your harness and to the new style switch. I will post the part number for the new switch in a bit.
