Anybody ever actually get a set of these mounted up to a Gen 1? Some aftermarket ones like this would look good on a black or white GEN 1 if the stock GEN 1 side markers were retained and lightly smoked to match and the amber section painted to match the car.

Looks like the GEN 1 lights are a little longer but then again a GEN 1 grill can be stretched to fit or a custom one installed in it's place. Get a set of the mustangs mounting brackets and such to make things easier.

yeah...

try a search on it.. I can't recall the thread name, but it should still have pics of the headlights.
The only problem he had was that the turn signals from the stang lights didn't fit, so he just used the headlights in conjunstion with the SHO's turn signals... IIRC, he was using projectors as well...

Exatly what I was thinking above. I'll search it and post my results.

Damn beat me to it. They look pretty good but I'd reather use the stangs inner light housings and modify the GEN 1 grill. They seem to be the perfect dimensions for the SHO though. They even light up with the side markers well. Well I'm going to order a set before I pick the 89' up. Here are pix of the SHO wearing the stang lights.

I have a custom billet grill that I am using, and mounting the whole mustang assembly... I am doing it only for the clear lens though, so I can put my bi-xenon projectors in :)

That is the grill, I made it from a navigator grill, the edges are still about an inch too big side to side, so after I get the headlights mounted I can grind it to fit nicely...

Those are the lights I am using, I havn't gotten the projectors mounted or anything in the front clip yet, I have been waiting to finish the interior before I started on the body work... I chose the black to make sure I would not have any problems with strange reflections or whatever, plus its easier to hide the epoxy ;)... I will be using the main light, and the inner assembly as well, the corner lights will probably be painted black... One day I will finish the project and take a shitload of pics for ya ;) Still feel kinda funny about taking apart and cutting up my brand new 150 dollar lights hehee....

Ok, lets not get unruly...

Edited.... I dont wanna fight :)

Now to get things back on topic:
I just knowticed we posted the same lights twice lol, the lights I originally wanted I cannot find anymore, they were the ones from the white car, only instead of chrome housings they had black ones. Since they already had a projector in them, instead of a reflector I thought it would be an easyer substrate for mounting my bixenons. However I have not been able to find another set :(

edit: these in black housings would be wonderful! except that I would have no use for the reflector housing, since they are bixenons, and these housings are kinda spendy...

Oh and I had not seen that mounting and aiming kit before, that might make things easier.... My list of projects goes: tech meet, heater/ac cores, put interior back together, headlights... so hopefully sometime in the next few months or so I will get them put together... I have to do the headlights before the paint and body, so that I know for a fact they work without modifying anything major.... Maybe I will just dryfit the housings and worry about the xenons later...

i doubt the fox lights would even come close to the gen 2 dimensions. The gen 1/fox lamps are much taller then a gen 2, which also has a much more slanted nose, whereas the gen 1/fox have a flat nose in regards to the head lamps. Maybe something from a prelude headlight assembly would help out, though!

How much shorter are the fox lamps w/ their respective centers in comparison to the SHO lamps?

Justin, i've always loved that grille! :thumb:
