Hey guys so anyone who has read my threads knows I’m trying to build something special here. Below is the list of mods I have now.
Gear head intercooler
Gear head tune
XDI HpFp
Airaid AirPod air intake
SSM torque mounts (highest one they made I believe was track edition)
Gear head E30 tune

Recently installed new water pump, timing chain, cam phaser and chains, and melling oil pump and pick up tube.

Looking to add some more stuff and increase the build. Any suggestions, ideas, or personal advice and experience would b great.

I leaning towards PPE high flow cats and down pipes with the 5”cat. And the full corsa exhaust. I do have some questions though. Will the PPE cat turn on check engine light?

Is the a better option? Or suggest other parts before, I am all ears!

No, many people feel these cars don't sound very good with most exhaust systems and I tend to agree. I just have the DPs and I'm happy with it. Maybe I'll delete the 3rd cat at some point.

@2K16SHO im thinking corsa has the best option there is no extra cat or resonator just pipes all the way to the mufflers. I have only heard it on the computer and all of the sound quality isn’t great with wind etc but never in person. I fill like I need them for my turbo upgrade I am planning on doing soon. Any thoughts or stock is still ok with the upgrades?

I’d hack out the third cat do the magnaflow x pipe resonator. After that it’s up to you how much V6 noise you can handle.

@Zpak i was doing it mostly to increase my air flow once I put in bigger turbos I figured the stocks would have some back pressure or restrictions I could careless of the noise I mean unless u get a great turbo noise lol

Then do what you have to do. The setup on my ‘14 was PPE catted (emission tests) then opened to 3”, x pipe out two 20”x4” glasspacks and back to wide open magnaflow mufflers. Droned like mad but I shaved one or two tenths off the quarter and my trap improved by I think 3 or 4 MPH.

In hindsight, I should’ve removed the glasspacks and added the magnaflow resonator. Not sure 3” would have fit underneath though.

See I can get around emissions because I register my car back home in FL where there are no emissions but I live in Vegas.
Gotcha thank u for the input I am a mechanic but this is my first build on a turbo vehicle so certain things are different then my previous builds( NA V8’s mostly dodge) any other additions that made a difference to you? I’m looking at the limited slip diffs

You pretty much have the list knocked out for what it can handle before you need to close the deck, and do major trans work.

I never made it to the point of the LSD. So, I have no advice in that department.

The one thing to keep in mind exhaust wise in a turbo car is the best exhaust past the turbo is none, as far as performance is concerned.

Any advice on the trans work? I have searched and not found much

Not much in the way of “building” the trans but these days there are options of the GH torque converter, Raybestos improved friction clutch disks are now abailable and thanks to @802SHO Helix AutoSport has also made some high dollar frictions.

Yes I know of the gear head torque converter and ray bestos clutch disk but the helix auto spots I did not, do u know which ones are supposed to be better ?

Not my area of any depth in knowledge but solely based on my observation, on paper at least the Helix friction disks are far superior. However, as far as I know Jordan and Andrew are the only ones running them so at this point they are fairly unproven. The next problem is their availability, followed closely by (at least for me) the prohibitive cost.

Gotcha, yeah I am trying to build up to something of that caliber. I’m a mechanic myself and after leaving the dodge platform, ford had one of the only 4 door sport car with the sho. At 6’5” 240lbs wife and kids two doors weren’t cutting it

I'm curious myself because depending on their characteristics, they may need some detuning at lighter torque inputs so they don't cause any binding and break the intermediate shafts for example, but maybe not. On the stock transmissions I'm pretty much at max pressures at wot at the 500HP level to get them to even shift properly there with stock clutches. It would be nice to not have to do that and just have the clutches hold the extra power at more stockish pressures.
