Other than my car being good, I've noticed it has a shake/vibration at speeds around 50-65mph. That leads to me having a tire balance issue. 2nd issue was i did one short run from 0-80ish before having to brake quickly and felt some pulsating. Warped front rotors? My pads are new and I've heard the brakes on the SHO (non performance package) aren't thee best especially factoring excessive hard braking like doing autocross or a few laps at the track is enough to heat up the rotors. The other possibility is a brake caliper hanging up??

My car again is a 2015 Ford Taurus SHO 118k new front brake pads tires are decent for now but to rule out anything, I have no abs/TC lights no funny noises and it also doesn't pull left or right. Let me know, thank you.

last alignment mount and balance?

pulsating brakes on hard stops can be warped rotors, since the rotots should of been replaced during the brake job., or when I do mine I do rotor replacement just good habit.

I would have to look at the Carfax to find out when they were last aligned and balanced. The rotors aren't new but whoever replaced them should have replaced both the rotors and pads for a better braking feel. I will probably most likely need to get new rotors for it. It's not a severe pulsation but enough to notice.

I had a1980 Subaru GL that used to warp it's rotors like allllllllllllll the time. I would cut them once and next rainy day and a sudden stop in I495 traffic and bamn, pulsating pedal. Then I learned that every pad change change the rotors. Nowadays if I understand they don't even cut rotors - they sell then to last one change, then replace.

Now I drive like stupid.... So yeah I am sure I cause my issues like 99% of the time and with 29K on mine I need new everything on mine. That said those Roturas are now looking interesting. New pads and oversized rotors

Yep. The auto parts stores around here advertise that they can turn rotors but, the last 3 times I tried, they told me they couldn't be resurfaced because they were too thin. And these rotors were the originals on the car/truck. I don't even try anymore. A brake job entails new rotors now.

Yeah in general I drive like I stole it.... Just have my whole driving career, that said hitting the breaks hard is something I do - then with all these tuning runs, forget about it.. my PP brakes are still stock but no pulsating - they have been good in general except for heating them up and passenger rear starts squealing like all the time, till it cools all the way down.

@Jake0811 like many cars your age, it is a constant dump of money to keep things working properly - manuf plan the 100K mile failure of many parts and systems, unfortunately. This isn't 1970/60/50 etc any longer. To keep people buying new cars 100K they seem to all develop engineered failure, thus repairing lots of things will be part of your ownership.

That s is the reason I put $6k in a new engine front calipers and rotors with basically all new sensors and parts on a rebuilt Scion. Still cheaper that buying a regularly on time maintenanced 100k mile car from granny.

I know my service history and when I do a job, I either pay to or do the job complete.

No car - no job. If you can't afford to fix it don't drive like me.

Right I mean i drive spirited sometimes, I do at times have a heavy right foot lol. But I think in the near future I'll upgrade to some carbon ceramic pads and new rotors for better feel in the brakes. But ditto on the tossing parts and money at a car with over 100k. I own two GM products and they constantly need work. Lmao but without a job we can't afford to fix or maintain our cars and enjoy them!

Another thing that affects rotor warping, especially on the Gen1/2 SHO is the lug nut torque. If the tire guy just ran them on with his impact and then put the torque wrench on and went click, click, click, then they are not torqued evenly and that can make rotors warp much more easily. Every time a mechanic has my wheels off, I literally loosen all the lug nuts and torque them properly as soon as I get home.

Totally forgot about this, great reminder and why if I have a shop work on mine I use my impact and torque because I don't trust them.
