They're fools if they don't. That or they don't want to remind people that Ford bailed on a pretty awesome platform in the US. Anyhow, I'm hoping for good news for you still.

Today I got an email to inform me I was not selected for the Featured Vehicle Display at Ford Nationals. I replied and was told the FVD was filled 2/28/25 and I applied 3/20/25. Which is interesting bc that means they prefilled the display well before the deadline to enter. On their website it states you’ll be notified within 60 days prior to the event. So they apparently choose from an early application base, not everyone that applies. Makes 0 sense as far as a fair chance. Who cares who applied first or last, shouldn’t they make their decision based on the cars entered overall not the order in which the applications were received? But what do I know? That’s just a split second common sense idea I came up with. Yeah I think it’s a load of BS.

Anyway, I’m not going now. I told them I bet the car would have the largest crowd around it in FVD. Ppl want to see something they’ve never seen before. Probably be a buzz around the event like ..hey Did you see that Taurus in FVD? You gotta check it out it’s crazy. I miss out, everyone misses out. Just some cool but boring classics and cookie cutters cars I bet instead. And I’m sure a handful of someone that knows someone cars in there bc ..they know someone. lol. F’em.

Andrew - I believe its a mix of all of this. They don't build Taurus's any longer, and they are using all that supposition to frame this to say you missed the deadline. Sorry for the Scrabble board of words, but I truly believe they want to focus on some Raptor dudes truck or the electric Mustang crapola.

Well as far as most of us are concerned, it's their loss. You're probably correct in all your assumptions. They want classics or platforms they're trying to unload. I do feel for you though; I would've loved to have seen it there and the crowd and talk it would generate.

Haha I went back and forth with the guy. I said I don’t know if you’re a promoter but if you are you’re not very good at it. Have a good one. They should rename it the Featured Application Display. Literally made it sound like you get in based on when you send in the app. Whatever on to better things.

Not sure if any of you have heard of TheBlackcarguru but ppl have been tagging him a lot in my posts for him to make a post about my car. He finally is. IMG 3911

Of all the things I've seen done on the boards, there will never be another like it...not even close. If it gets into the 10's or better, that can't be ignored.

kryptto, I'm going to have to give you bonus points too for beating the boards
politically correct police with that last post, ha.

Sorry to hear this man. You don't know me, I'm just a lurker who sold my SHO a few months ago, but your build thread is the only reason I still visit here. I think I speak for us all when I say we can't wait to see your build come to fruition. Don't let some bureaucratic nonsense get you down!

Instagram is where it’s blowing up. Couple small updates on the car. I had that Ford logo design by Paul Rand (1966) custom made from steel. 3/8” base and 3/8” letters. Slightly modified to make the R connect to the D. Rough cut, it’s been sent to a very talented Powder Coat place in NY, BCP Restoration. RenderedImage76523869733 59E99523 1189 440B BE84 889BC7DF3ABE
I believe he’s going to hand smooth out the letters a little. Plan is gloss black and matte black letter faces. Only Paul Rand logo made into an emblem that I know of.

Matt Pohnan closed off the PCV ports on the used metal valve cover and welded a 1/2 NPT bung on the vent port that’s away from the timing chain. 5558699779166308841
This is getting sent directly to BCP Restoration also to match translucent purple.

I received my Racebred Components dry carbon splitter endplates. For 10% off they want me to make a dedicated post on Professional Awesome Racing Technical Forum on FB. So it’s a deal. I just mocked them up here sitting on the edge guard that will be cut to install them.

They are fully functional endplates, utilizing CFD analysis the endplates generate an 18% increase in downforce at 100mph. They created a flow structure and outwash leading to an increase in front grip. The 3D tunneled design helps create a seal at the edges of the splitter and joins the existing vortex created in the same rotation, while the flow conditioner at the rear functions to further redirect air outward past the front wheels.

They go through 11 separate molds and an autoclaving process before complete. No other endplates exist that are fully functional and available for public purchase. IMG 3930IMG 3934IMG 3932IMG 3933

Almost done installing my Hotchkis quick release hood pins. The hood angled and the tight ID of the base plate is where I got stuck in a time warp lmfao! Using more square tapered washers to get them angled slightly is proving to be working but also just time consuming. I took one pass at making the taper less aggressive and I’m like 95% there just need to grind them a little more. IMG 3946IMG 3948IMG 3950IMG 3961IMG 3962IMG 3963IMG 3964
