Really wanted the 3rd Gen bc of this. IMG 3534
Always had a long bed truck for work and thought I couldn’t live without one. Slim pickings with a long bed and fully loaded, they exist but pricey. Likely need to be a 2500. Less than an 8’ bed really stinks and it takes some getting used to when going with a 6’4” bed. But now bc I’m used to putting the tailgate down for anything 7’+….dropping to 5’5” really isn’t a huge jump. I decided I wasn’t going to let 1’ get between me and the truck I want lmfao!

I don’t believe so you’re saying port injection and direct injection?

Yes Not sure when they started doing that, but my wife's sister has a expedition and I'm pretty sure it has that system. Want to say 2017 or so.

Ford finally realized they needed to do something for valve wash…. I mean fuel economy, yeah fuel economy.

Nice add to the stable. Those are pretty bad ass trucks. I’ll wait for the pics after you drop it!

Update on the car pic for attention. IMG 3793
I bought a used 10-12 right side valve cover off eBay and had it shipped directly to Matt Pohnan (Max Power Automotive). Not sure why I didn’t think of that earlier. No downtime just swap covers in one session. About $60 used and shipped. That will get the PCV ports deleted and a -10 AN bung welded on and powder coated, there’s a chance it won’t be 100% same shade of translucent purple bc it’s a different batch but I’m sure it’ll be close enough and the covers are on each side and not touching …a 10% change in brightness or darkness I don’t think is going to matter. Is what it is.

I need new front fender liners to make custom ones, cut away the plastic near the exhaust and install mesh that will stop rocks from pelting the chassis splitter. New VVT solenoid gaskets so will need to remove everything to take off both valve covers.

Finish the passenger side and rear bumper vinyl graphics.

Install dry carbon splitter end plates from RaceBredComponents.com.

Finish diffuser.

Install hood pins and remove center latch.

Remove plastic DOT air lines and convert to AN hoses.

Get this thing broken in and start tuning.

Dial in 93, dial in 93+meth and Dragy test street.

Convert to E85R and meth and dial it in. Dragy street test. See where it lands turned up about 70%. Around here might hit the track. Just in case turned up more causes some unknowns to reveal themselves get a solid run in. Then turn it up more a little bit at a time. Might get kicked out for not having a legit cage we’ll see but that’s not important at this time. New car, new setup lots to adjust and should be able keep it in one piece from incremental increases and checks/tests…give myself room to address anything before it’s a real problem.

My son was on the phone with me, kind of distracting and I noticed I didn’t enter pics in the order they wanted. Guess we’ll see if I get accepted. Says I will get notification at least 60 days prior to the event.

Seriously I told my rep next time in Detroit to get us a meeting at Ford. I want to show them your pics. Your car at the hotel bar was a hit. Was talking to a couple of Ford workers and showing your car off.

I'm confident that Andrew's build will be selected.

What a tremendous opportunity. For him and for the platform.

Andrew's definitely taken that proverbial torch and has run with it.

I had past meet and greets with higher ups from FMC back in the day. Albeit at the CAP (Chicago Assembly Plant) where the Taurus was built. A great time was had by all.

If that opportunity opens up for Andrew as well, then absolutely deservedly so.
