So I just purchased a 2016 Ford Taurus SHO today 6/29/24.

80k miles

3.5 L twin turbo supercharged 24 valve V6

Upon vehicle inspection under car I located "VERY " slight oil residue around open black hose, (decent side bottom kinda right side of motor).

It appears they had it rubber boot fitting clamped caped off of some type looking appears to go onto a aluminum possible side ****** for turbo.

Why the heck was this done? And what for?

Did previously owner young kid do it for noise?

Shouldn't it be hooked up like factory?

I test drove it and ONLY noise came from DE- ACCELERATION of pedal?

Please inform?

That sounds like your blow off’s are vented to atmosphere. Really has zero negative or positive effects. Just for the noise.

So . I was right? Young guy did it for noise? I'm not loosing, nor gaining HP . Off, or on?

Just noise?
When you de- accelerate. You heard it. Crazy sound!

Correct, just noise. It happens when you let off the gas because it’s venting off the unused boost. From the factory it just gets recirculated back into the intake tract.

If you want to get into the weeds I actually prefer VTA because the charge air is a tad oily and it’s not going back into the system. I also like the sound.

So you think I should re-capped and put the way I found it? No more oil that way back to the box? Thought the oil was good for the turbo? (not less/ more HP)

I'm so confused regardless of noise.
Yes! Noise bout freaked me out! " VTA "? Hummmmmm

Ok...

Wait that was intense. And way too much.
However, "Thank You" I appreciated it.

However back to my question. I don't know if it was flashed, whatever other mods. Plugs/ caps/ hoses/ whatever. If I'm running mods that have been done. Technically I should replace what I did. Yes I'm a wrench. However this is a NEWER car for me with twin turbos, dual cams 24 valves and and likely a bunch of mods done....... I need to MAINLY FOCUS GET READY FOR A COMPLETE 100K SERVICE!

With that said......

So back to the original question. So oil back in system/ box not good? And destroying other previous mods? Or... simply dosent effect. How one one ever know? I bought it used, and no paper trail of technicians from it. Probably going say take it to a shop.Spent way too much on car already. Yes my money. I'm seriously probably opening a can of worms that I shouldn't of?

Did I strip motor top part down to check no. Should I probably yes. However may be best to keep orgional mods. Those hoses/caps/plugs are NOT (in video)the BOTTOM of motor like I stated. This was done on a lift from underneath the car.(black rubber cap clamps and large black hose off down bottom right end of motor had some oil from it)

Possibly back yard/ " shade tree technicians "

Or master technicians

I will never know....

(not knocking just not going spend hours, and hours, and hours checking for mods/ dynos/computers/scans when I simply need to get on road and work.It is financed)

What you seriously think?
Besides do what you want?

Please
Thank you
For all you time!

You’re going to have to snap a photo to show exactly what you’re talking about.
All I can clearly Zpak remember yesterday was a BIG ass black hose coming down UNDERNEATH car on RIGHT side of motor bottom under the lift. It was obviously turbo hose. I saw a little oil in inside of it. No dripping maybe film in it from road.

Then it looked like a ********* rubber cap with hose clamp around it going to aluminum of some part.

I told dealer mechanic is that right?

Thinking NO MODS were done.

He agreed it was just for noise
And put it back on.

That's most I could tell ya

And stupid me didn't have my phone to snap pic's!

Ok now it doesn’t seem like you’re referring to the BOV’s (blow off valves) anymore.

Are you saying the intake pipe was off the turbo!? Cause that’s no bueno.

Are the blow off valve " rubber " hose maybe around 2 inch in diameter black rubber on bottom of right underneath side of motor?

It's not a " metal" tube I inspected!

If I recall the cap was sane size around 2 inch clamped what appeared to something color of aluminum inlet.

I'm certain it's what I circled here. Black rubber hose unplugged. Black rubber cap on circle with clamp.

I might be looking at the VTA mod as well
Because that the sound in video is same similar area. When I drove it sane sound decel it did. It's somewhere around that circle I did may be back a little higher in front a little from turbo. Turbos are not dead. Plenty of boost. Just trying to figure this dang mod. If it is a mod.

Why do you think I started this fourm?

I may be looking at wrong hose. Wrong cap.
It's somewhere it that area. The video mod looked similar. However there's a difference between under car and on top.

I don't have car here and can't get under it if I wanted too st momment.

I'm most certain it's the VTA mod.

This is it probably. However. I swear they had a larger adaptor to go from small to large to hose.

I’m starting to feel like Billy Bob Thornton in, Bad Santa.
Are you Fu¢k!ng with me kid!!??

The first picture you circled is the turbo compressor side. If that was plugged you would have problems. The second, is the PCV. If that was plugged you would have problems.
