The ST’s have a 10 speed transmission, RWD bias AWD system. Leaps and bounds better than our 6 speed FWD bias AWD setup. I think you could expect better ET’s from a 10 speed SHO over a 10 speed Explorer but with the amount of money that would cost…I’d rather not.
Yep, just graft a SHO body on a Explorer ST. That would be the cheapest option.

The exhaust note is literally magic! Had the white one for a year and I still smile every time I start it up.

I talk shit but it had bad sway bar links and a failing oil drain plug no working AC and it's getting ready to eat a belt lol but all relatively easy problems mostly already solved just gotta pop the links on before I take it over to get the new tires and wheels mounted. Which will be easy since it's already up on jack stands fixing the leak and mounting the front lip. Still gotta pull the bumper for the rear diffuser , yay

Both are after the headbolt issue
Perfect, I couldn't off the top of my head remember what years were the problem. Have you followed any of the Merc 6.2 liter builds on Legit Street Cars on youtube?

I have and once general maintenance concerns are out of the way I'll be looking at doing a VRP Supercharger setup.

I like it.
I wasn't stoked about having a sedan over a coupe but this thing was too good to pass up so it's definitely growing on me the more stupid I go with it I guess I'm a guy that likes things at extremes lol

Went down to talk to Brett at the dealership and go over the turbo replacement and the general tidyness of the work checked and gone through to get everything unfucked. Said I should hear something by Friday

So here's a little treat the rear turbo problem because someone left a dust cover on the feed line. So that was fun finding that out ....

so we're looking at probably around 20 hours of shop time and 600 in parts

All that said I have all the confidence in the world in the car and the mods after Brett has gone through it very thoroughly and this bitch is gunna rip. Memorial day weekend so we gotta wait til Tuesday to get it finished but the turbo is in there at least.
