"No, car on lift and transmission on table for 2 weeks or so"

I'm in the same boat. Car in shop for 2 weeks tomorrow, no reverse. The shop has ordered a rebuilt trans and hopefully I'll hear some updates soon.

No matter how much they offer, I always think that the price is too high comparing them with Priceva.

Just got a call from my race shop. He called and said take a guess at what happened. I said too much power? He said thats the first part. Then i said what exploded? Just being funny because my transfer case exploded last year. He said planetary gear is in pieces. He said everything is there now and a couple parts he made. 4600$, i said what do you recommend so this wont happen again? The owner told me trust me it wont happen again with what he is putting into it. Beats me. Hope to get it back soon.

For a shop that gets all the state trooper sho work he said he has never seen the planetary gear destroyed like that let alone on any vehicle. He said he has all the pieces for me. Ill post it up eventually.

Im sure me driving with a clunking and destroyed transfer case last winter did the damage to the transmission. It just took a couple launches to fully k ill it. Not a bad price imo, Ford charged me 2k$ in 2020 to change the steering rack in comparison

At least you are making progress.

I called the shop this morning and the rebuilt trans still hasn't come in. He is going to call and let me know when it might hit his shop.

Got a call on March 8th that the car is done and working perfectly. Owner said it got upgraded clutch packs (no clue on the brand) along with a zip kit and other things that he found to work out well for others. Also its running a different type of fluid now. Not sure what he said but its all in a booklet he has in the car along with a 3 year rebuild warranty. May be the same as the 10r80 fluid, he said it shifts quicker. I have not yet gone to pick it up as it very far from me and i really don't need the car, ill get it eventually and post the cost paper. Also he has a box of broken parts to keep as a souvenir lol.
