Ill let you know. My trans just went today. Stomped it. Heard a bang and no gears work. Engine is good. In any gear it just makes a reeeeeeee noise. Its currently at my performance shop that did my engine work so.
If it can be rebuilt its getting the lsd swap while its out. If not ill just get a new trans

Actually thinking its just the torque converter that popped but ill find out eventually

Whats available for them? Clutch packs out yet? Any torque converter upgrade worth the cost?If it's out imo get it rebuilt money well spent.

hope this isnt considered "hijacking" but out of curiosity how common is it for these trannys to let go? Ive always heard the PTU is something to keep an eye on but that the trannys in these things are tough as nails.

From my research, pretty common if you don't service them regularly. They weren't built for the 400 hp these cars come with

My guy is rebuilding mine with intercepter throttle bodies and servo's. Pretty costly and I'm in part of the country that shit is fair priced. He said 3800 to 4800 depending.
Mine grenaded with 11k, after Diablo Sport pretune dyno tested supposedly blew my transmission. Real hard shifts.... it's better designed by Ford over gm.

I blew my trans up in in November 2018. I had an independent shop replace the trans with a new stock trans from Ford. It cost me $4900.

Ford wanted like 9k to do the job. The new trans came with a 3 year and 36k mile warranty as well.

Yea if its not to different in cost. Whatever is wrong with mine as it was just a pop and no gears or reverse. Thinking the pump went or shaft that runs the pump as it had some torque converter shuttering. May just get a new one with a warranty. Maybe a PP trans for around the street final drive. I still didnt hear back from my shop but they only had it for 6 hours in their defense lol.

Trans Failure Update: After inspection, the snap ring on the 3-5-R drum decided to exit stage left. It failed and wiped out the trans. The good thing is there was not a wave disc failure.

Yea ill go over in the morning to see if i can get an update. Nothing would work, neutral was every gear and reverse. No wrench or cel. Had it running for a bit to make sure the engine was fine. Oil was good. Plugged in my livernois tuner i use for a scanner lol and nothing but the normal body codes. Usually when a drum lockring goes some gear would still try to work. Seen it on the flex work vehicle more than a couple times

Transmission is out. No external damage. Fluid is perfect. No mechanical damage internally. Its not pumping so they need to take it apart father to see if the shaft is stript, damaged or if the pump just went. All i was told. So if i give a different update in the near future then my bad lol
