I have a 2013 sho PP with the auto park Assist and blank button on console. I ordered the part with the TC and auto park button assembly. I was wondering is it just plug and play?

Then yes it should be.

What's funny was, I had a 2013 PP, very early production. Had the parallel park AND the TC button.

It never displayed "sport mode" after double clicking it. Just traction control off. It did seem to be on Sport mode however, based on my experiences with my 2016 and 2018.

To me, Sport mode is a really nice way to get the electronically controlled apparatus to behave like you had limited-slip differentials. Get one wheel to slip? OK, we'll tame it with the brakes JUST ENOUGH to get it to transfer enough power to the other side to get both to slip together. In other words, helping you to drift.

Anyone remember that commercial for the SHO, where a race car driver was sliding the car sideways on a track? Well, the only time I ever got my 2013 to do that was in Sport mode. Not complete full-off, and certainly not full-on.

But definitely got a good full four-wheel burn sliding sideways. I had a lot of parking lot to help out.

Achieved by accelerating in a straight line, and then turning the wheel to the left slowly until adhesion is destroyed ;)

Funnier still (or not), as I was probably moving at 60-70MPH at this point, as I let off the gas, the car spun around backwards. I'm like... yeah, not liking that PP front sway bar that's thinner than non-PP. Anyway. That, and it's handling in snow, where the rear really likes to come out, always makes me hyper aware the rear likes to slide ...

That is exactly how my 13 is.

Thanks for the heads up, Im excited to have the 3 options to change and test. It's so weird that the button would be excluded in some of the 2013 shos with PP. I'm really hoping I can just remove the old button and replace with the new one without any fuss. Any recommendations are welcome to installation

Ok i have a 2013 sho with PP and it doesn't have either the ESC button "advance track" nor the drivers asst traction control in the settings.
I also have a 2013 SHO with the PP and have no actual traction control button…did you ever figure this out? Kinda ****** me off

Yes. All you have to do is buy the button assembly from Ford and plug it in.

older post but I find myself in the "2013 PP without an ESC button" dilemma, has anyone ever tried to just wire in a switch? if the wiring is there why not back probe the connector and install a momentary switch? might not be factory but its cheaper and easier to get ahold of than the correct switch. I had to wire in a switch for an O/D off on my 05 f150 with console shifter, console shifter wasn't as popular an option back in the day and it was the first gen to offer it so when the O/D button next to the shifter broke I couldnt find a replacement so I tried a momentary switch I had laying around and it worked, still works to this day. I was planning on putting in a small switch bank anyway so I'm thinking of trying it out but was curious if anyone has ever done it themselves.

@kryptto i think this may have been it, your response and a slow day at work prompted me to go on a youtube binge of reviews and commercials and i stumbled on this:

Which is enough for me to want to do my little shortcut switch to turn off the ESC and play responsibly on a closed course with full safety attire.

First Jennifer Brace - Sync engineer - should be fired retrospectively... The driver is legendary Carl Edwards, watching it makes me want to go get the car lowered - still working on collecting items - and tear up my $1000 tire investment.

could..not..agree..more about Jennifer Brace, not sure how much better sync 3 is but its on the todo list. I thought about aiming my sights towards lowering, i like its current stance but i park next to an equinox every day at work and we have the same ground clearance . I just want to shred some tires body roll or not, ill wait until the dealer paid Michelins are close to spent though

Worth it! I highly suggest the junkyard route. Using CarPart and NaviUpgrade, I had maybe $300 in the swap. If you don't have ForScan and a cable/connector, it may cost a little more. Call a couple of the cheaper junkyards and "play dumb" about the screen and "box" attached to it. I just told them my mechanic said that is what I needed. Got both for $150 shipped. Ordered the jumper harness and bezel from NaviUpgrades. I can't remember if I got the USB from Amazon or NaviUpgrade. The antenna is not worth going cheap on. I got mine off Amazon and saved $45. I have a randomly working OEM navigation because of it. I will be getting the NaviUpgrade one someday.

What's the trick to getting the console apart to get the TC button out?
So using a plastic trim removal tool, start by the dash bin open the lid, gently pry upward, careful by the buttons for trunkand push start, you can easily break the tab if you lift up too hard. When releasing the button area pull too you.Screenshot 20231110 175419 Chrome
Pull up the bins starting with the back bin careful or wiring harness. 4/5 then 6/7 etc. All screws same size.

I have a 13 that is a PP and Just picked up a 17 Non PP so was going to add the TC button to it.
if you do this please share how you did it, this is something i’ve been wanting to do myself but i haven’t found a step by step guide only vague directions and i don’t have enough experience with this type of stuff to “just get” what the guy was talking about. Super excited to see if/how it works for you!

Do you not have the Driver Assistance Package with the LDW or Auto Park or are you going to eliminate those switches?
