Well, was cranking out a bit of work on my built block yesterday. insulated the lower coolant pipe to match the upper one I did awhile back. This pipe was also ceramic coated by Jet Hot. Took all freaking day to deal with taking that lower pipe out and back in since I had the heads on. Working on this pipe is WAY easier with the heads off, but I missed it at the time of the build. Still, I was determined and got it done!

I just had a lateral thinking experience. I'm looking at this hot water pipe that runs under the intake manifold and I'm thinking to myself why not flip it around shorten it up. Roll a bead on the end and run the a hose externally over to the radiator. Of course you'd have to use the other end for the overflow tank hook up. But it might cut down on the heat transfer better than wrapping the pipe. Mind you the pipe is probably there to heat the intake manifold for winter use. Just a thought.

Issue is, the thermostat housing is built into the intake manifold...there's really no way to accomplish what you're saying outside of a complete coolant system redesign. Not impossible, but I think the insulation method is a cheap alternative and works pretty well.

I really like that eastern b e a v e r pc-8 controller. That has almost unlimited applications in the 12v world.
I have some audio equipment switched through barrier strips and relays. This would be a perfect solution. Thank you.

Would I be correct to assume that this would not be suggested for a catted system? Looks like from the write up and the website, the system is controlling by cutting spark?

That's correct...its an ignition cut system, so it's dumping fuel...I should add this fact in the write up...it may cause issues with catalysts.

Which reminds me, I also need to add that some tuning adjustments need to be made. I'm still working that out with Brad, but the O2 sensors may need to be placed into an Open Loop status while on the 2-Step.
