Just got back from Ford and $168.00 later they claim that all my sensors are working properly, good batteries and signal. They suggest that I NOT use the 3 hole USB charger that I plug into the cigarette lighter as that is likely the culprit. We shall see, but that has never been an issue with my summer rims/tires. What's funny is the TPMS dummy light only comes on after freeway driving of more than 15 min. Once the car is parked and not used for a day or more it resets by itself. Hopefully that is the issue but it sure seems odd to me.

My car would reset from being in the garage when it would pick up the tpms from my stock wheels. Then after 30 min of driving it would come back on. There’s a way to set them manually without a tool. I forget the strange sequence of things you need to do to get it to start, and you let air out to get it to turn on and it’ll beep. You might want to try manually trying to check them yourself. Check YouTube or Google for the sequence if you feel like trying it.

Oh please! Another dealer making stuff up again! A USB charger? I don't think so!

Interesting that you mention that! I have my summer wheeld/tires stacked up, and they're at my LF corner when I'm in the garage.

I'll have to bring up the TPMS screen before I pull out, to see if it got confused!

The new sensors that Discount Tire put in my summer wheels perfectly match my two good tire gauges. The sensors in my factory wheels that I use in winter read high.

There seems to be an abundance of internet discussion about cheapo car chargers interfering with radio frequencies, particularly among pilots. Also if you google "usb charger radio interference tpms" there's threads on the topic amongst owners of Ford, Acura, Honda, Smart, Ferrari, Toyota, Jaguar, Nissan, Mazda......

I’ve been having an issue with my tailgate staying locked in my 21 Ram and they were trying to say it’s bc of my aftermarket LED headlights….but really it was freezing after car washes in 25 and below weather. They were complaining about how it could be interference. First time I heard about claims of such a thing.
Now this is the second time.

Im not convinced that’s the issue I had but maybe in some cases it is.

Just an update, removing the phone charger seems to have fixed the problem. Went on a long drive last weekend and the dummy light never came on. Good news I guess
