So has anyone tried the MSD coils?

They look nice under the engine cover :) I wouldn't spend my money on them, though.

That is not uncommon on older model cars with ignition coils as well. I have noted with anecdotal posts online over several years that OEM coils are usually best.

I had an msd coil on an old car in the past, and after replacing that thing 3 times I would say stay far far away from msd products. I don't have any stats to back me up, but I've never heard of anyone having good luck with msd stuff lasting very long.
If they weren't so expensive and swapping them out was a quick easy job, then maybe they'd be worth it.

I am a year in on mine. Had them on my first SHO. After I got hit, I transferred them to my second SHO. I currently drive 1000+ miles a week and have had no issues. I picked up mine on an open box special on Amazon for $150 for the 6 pack.

I bought mine at the same time because the price was amazing. No problems after 6,000 miles.

Same.

It could be one of those things where people are more vocal when they fail, but for those without issue, you don't hear from us.

MSDs were notorious for failing in Mustangs, but they did something right with the Ecoboost, I personally have never had a set come back as failed in my time as a dealer. And we sell a lot of them.
