That's a decent, but generic, chart. Not sure what their fascination with sidewall height is! In staggered combos, it's common to have one "taller" than the other, but with the same wheel and tire diameters it's irrelevant. My summer tires are 275/40/20 & 305/35/20, but I guarantee no one notices the "taller" front sidewall!

I probably mentioned it earlier, but the chart reminded me. Yeah, they look cheaper, but stay away from 555G2s!
Why do you say stay away from the nitto nt555g2 tire?

Cheap, because old tech, as bad as the RE92 and GY RSA that Ford used to use, and Dodge still used as recently as 2019.

Bought my (used) car with brand new 555G2s on the front, which were not run in the winter. At just under 15k miles, they were not quite half worn. They were getting noisy, and were heat-cycled out as the PittRace Track Day at the 2020 SHO Convention had the front end washing out. Ran Gingerman 3 months earlier, without that issue. I changed rotors & pads after PittRace. Then went on my usual midnight brake bedding excursion, and the tires were slipping and engaging abs. Garbage.

They act exactly like the same 90s tech RSAs.

Are you talking about the Goodyear Eagle RSAs? I thought those were a good tire, the State Troopers and local PDs around here all run them as summers on their Interceptors . . .

Nitto developed at 555g2 on the track at Sebring with Ford and several Ford race teams. In dry and wet conditions. All mustangs i think. I have no opinion on them as i never ran them but they were track developed and made in Japan so some pros for when ill be looking for new tires in spring.

Still have Potenza RE-71r in my cart. Change my mind before i buy please, im open minded

RE71s are good. Just understand the trade-off of good summer performance versus wear.

They were the base tire on the Gen 3 SHOs, and GTPs in the 90s. They were light (weight), Z-rated and all-season, which checked all the boxes for Ford and GM. Surprisingly, my buddy's 2019 M6 **** Pack Challenger came with them. Edit: S-C-A-T didn't pass the Nanny!

We complained about them in the 90s! Just like the 555s, decent until half tread, then hard, heat-cycled, and noisy. Decent for the 90s, much better choices today. Same with the Bridgestone RE92. Decent speed rating, all-season OEM tires. My wife's new 95 Del Sol had them. Then replaced, well before being worn out, with Nokian WRs. My new 05 Legacy GT also came with those POSs. Barely made it through the first winter! Then got Hankook Icebears for winter, and Hankook RS2s for summer and track days.

Ah. I went to 18" wheels off a Mustang so I will need a 245-55-18 to keep stock height when I go to replace tires and they were the most economical, what I considered decent tire that I can find in that size. Honestly, I had even considered trying to pick up the PD hand-me-downs as most of the departments around here only run them one season, lol.
