Trunk opens by itself and over head lights come on

As the title states the last couple of days I come to start the car and it says trunk ajar and sure enough I have to get out and close it. I don’t know if it’s related but the other day I was driving and the overhead lights went on by themselves the. I shut them off. Another time I just slammed on my brakes and the light came on for a second and then went off. I’m wondering if they are connected or something else might cause it

Probably your keyfob. Unlock button turns on interior lights and trunk button opens trunk. Maybe its acting weird. My keyfob i got with the car would always open the trunk all the time, so i replaced it and never had the issue again

Does the trunk pop if you walk up to the car with the fob on you? Trunk button near the license plate is known to short out.

My trunk button is disconnected the connector broke about a year ago in an accident still opens with fob if I press the button
