Hey Guys, sorry it's been a while. As you can see I found my summer project car. This 91 was sitting out in the South Carolina sun for 6 years completely neglected. I rescued her and had her trailered all the way to New York where I live. The clear coat is gone as you can see. Needed a new gas tank, fuel pump/sending unit, and fuel filter. Runs perfect again! Both front power window motors and regulators had to be replaced. Total nightmare. The clutch feels good and the shifter is nice and tight. Oh and did I leave out the best part? It only has 82,000 miles on it! Yup! So this car deserves a new lease on life. When it is wet, it looks brand new but when its dry, different story. Let me know what you think, I would love to hear from fellow SHO owners/enthusiasts. This is my second 91 that I have owned. My first was an Oxford White with the black interior. Had that car for 19 years. Miss it so much that I bought another. This color is my least favorite but I am sure you are aware how rare and desirable the first gen SHO's are. Getting more and more hard to find these cars. I wish you could hear it run. I mean it purrs. The engine is so happy. Anyways, holler back and thank you for checking it out. I will be posting more pictures when I start doing the body work.

Hey Zoomlater! Greetings from the east coast. It is my pleasure saving this beauty. I just ordered clearcoat today. I plan on scotchbrite sanding the areas where the clear coat is flaking, then 1500 grit, 2000 grit, then spray on the clear coat. I plan on doing all of this in my garage so wish me luck. The areas where there is clear coat, I plan on buffing it out. The bumpers, and wheels need a buffing as well. I hope the headlights and tail lights can be saved. The look I am hoping for is how she looks wet with rain water, meaning the picture I have on my profile. That was taken the day the car arrived. First impression, is I loved it. So let's hope I can make the car look like that with 2K rattle can clear coat. Thank you for responding:)

Hey Chad‍♂️ Thank you for responding. I plan on taking baby steps with this car. I want it to come out nice rather than rushing it. If I can get the clearcoat on successfully, I think the rest of the body work will be easy.

Just be careful, the base red coat is quite thin. IMO, this is one of the BEST 90-91 colors, but to each his own.

I greatly appreciate your response Ron. Thank you for that. I do have a question. Would you happen to know the paint code? I may have to order a couple cans of touch up. Is it either Currant Red or Electric Red Metallic? I have not attempted to find the code on a sticker somewhere on the car yet.

If it's a 91 then it's Electric Red.

The paint code is in the lower left corner of the door sticker. It will be 2 letters.

I can look it up when I get to work tomorrow.

Electric Red is paint code EG. You should see that in the lower left corner of the sticker.

If your door sticker is in bad shape or you are going to repaint jams, let me know and I can reproduce that door decal for you...I have already done several for various guys and haven't heard any negative feedback yet so I guess they are pretty happy with results....lol

Hey JBeck! Thank you so much for your responses. I hope you are getting this message because I wanted to express my appreciation. Yes I agree, she is a beauty. Still runs strong. Tonight I go to harbor freight to pick up a rotary buffer. Also the 2K Clear coat is on it's way from Amazon. I plan on spraying 3 coats on the hood first and see how it comes out. Then go to the roof and finally the trunk and A-pillars. I will check and see if I need a new door card. Also, would you happen to know where I can find an "SHO" front license plate frame? My car does not have one:/ Any help would be greatly appreciated.
