@aaron240, thanks for the PM. Im in, I dont race and barely drive the car so looks over function for me. I have a new in box gearhead IC that I have not yet installed. Maybe me waiting was a good thing. Ill probably sell it. Im more of a custom look person and im not afraid to cut into my car as every vehicle I own has been cut into in "some way" lol

Yes you and me both. The Mishimoto J Line intercooler isnt just for looks though, it really improves the cooling performance of the system which in turn allows for more power to safely be made. I also did a thing or two on my own personal SHO with a custom carbon fiber air dam i built myself for the intercooler and the police interceptor front bumper painted to match as it has improved aerodynamics over the SHO bumper and a larger lower grill vent for my PP trans cooler upgrade.

Will any type of existing grille fit with this kit/intercooler?

Based upon the images provided, and your own answer, the stock grill will NOT fit.

Just the OEM frame only will fit. Sans the grille.

Is that more accurate?

Yes, that was what i was implying, the grill frame will fit but the grill mesh needs to be removed to allow the new 4" thick Mishimoto J Line intercooler core to clear. The black SHO grill mesh can be unbolted from the chrome grill frame without requiring any cutting of the grill.

I understand what you’re saying now, I was asking about a complete grill, including mesh. I’m not a fan of the open grill area with a protruding intercooler myself.

Unfortunately there isnt enough clearance to keep the mesh with this upgraded intercooler as its 4" thick and it being that thick is the reason why it can support 550awhp while only costing $250 shipped.

Could we get a smaller (not as thick) intercooler so that it will fit behind some mesh? I like how @GotGrip? Intercooler fits behind some mesh on the grille. (I hope he doesn't mind me posting a picture of his sweet ride)D492c818f3724468440e3bb0b661da26

Same kit I believe but different intercooler brand. The mishimoto would stick out a tad past the grille

I'll get ya paid today. I'll do install asap as I have other things to do like tranny cooler with the bumper off. My gh ic is posted on another site as well, figured on 400$ sealed in box. At least get something for it

Shit I’ll buy it for $400 if you’re selling it that cheap. My IC is 3.5 and rated for 666hp and I can fit mesh if I want to, I just don’t want to.

Yes his ride is sick and he's a great dude, very informative and helpful. Yes you could go the treadstone route and still purchase my piping kit if you wanted to have a front mount setup and still keep the mesh. The majority of the piping and couplers and clamps will still be usable. I would actually cut whoever installs my kit with a treadstone intercooler an even bigger discount if they provided me with the modifications required to make my piping kit fit the treadstone intercooler so that those who want mesh grills can finally have an option as well. The reason i went with mishimoto is due to cost and hp. The mishimoto is $250 shipped where the treadstone is $330 shipped and also the mishimoto is good for 550 awhp and the treadstone only to 500.
