Got up under the SHO today got the rear differential opened up , had to un hook the exhaust to carefully slip on the rdu cover after putting the gasket on , cleaned it up nicely . Local dealer didn’t have the motorcraft gear oil till morning so I hand torqued everything up and left the SHO on the ramps overnight to seal the cover on . All I had was some mobile 1 80w90 Laying around so I’d rather wait for OEM .

That's what I was thinking about sealing it back up. Tight quarters. Nice pics!

How was the fluid and the bottom of the diff housing? Shavings, crud, etc?

Yea the bottom was filled with gunk thick oil , not sure if this procedure was ever done before on this vehicle .
