Interesting. Want to hear more on this.

It's actually this one.

https://www.deatschwerks.com/9-307-1026

the DW400 linked above was too big for the stock bucket and required many modifications from what I hear. This is a drop in and includes the harness (have to specify for the SHO when you order).

Turns out it will be here Thursday, so we'll see what happens.

I'm bad about build threads haha. So I got the DW pump in, went to install it and nada. Too big, electrical connector was wrong, yada yada. So I bought a new bucket, sent it and the DW pump back to them and they installed it for me. Unfortunately with finished my engineering degree it just sat, and now I'm working form home with my wife and 2 kids and somehow have LESS time than I did when I worked 45 minutes from home 9 hours a day haha.

So a few updates since I last posted:

Upgraded the SHO to R1Concepts slotted brake rotors and Wilwood 6 Piston brakes. These things are insane compared to stock, and mixed with semi-metallic pads it stops way better than the PP pads did. I have a full write up on this in the performance section and will be offering this on our site soon.

I also felt a little rice in me so I installed the Spoiler King roof spoiler. Was a bit of a pain to line up, but I think it looks good.

I also re-did my grille in satin black and added a CCG XXL Grille in place of the factory honeycomb.

A pic of the rear brakes since I ran out of pic attachments. I'll be painting them blue to match the fronts, but was waiting on more G2 paint since I did the fronts off the car. The brackets will stay black, only the caliper itself will be blue.

Also decided to turn my attention to lighting for a bit, and call on Limitless Concepts in Tulsa, OK to search their catalog for full LED replacements on the car.

So far I've installed:
* License Plate Lighting
* Reverse Bulbs
* Puddle Lamps
* Map Lights
* Rear Dome Lamps
* Switchbacks

The switchbacks for some reason still hyperflashed in select scenarios, like unlocking the car WHILE RUNNING and when I had DRLs activated in Forscan. Otherwise they are flawless so trying a hyperflash module to keep from having to splice resistors since these already have the resistors built in.

I also took delivery of some extra bulbs today to do the front corner markers, the trunk, the vanity lights, and a few others. Should have pics of those when I get some free time.

My final update for now (I think) is that I've finally decided to venture from the stock catback. For the past year, I've had catless downpipes and the stock catback and while I do like the sound, I want a little more agressive tone without being raspy or obnoxious.

Last week, I ordered a Magnaflow resonated X-Pipe and some 2.5" and 2.25" flanges. My plan is to continue 2.5" flanged piping from the downpipe connection into the X-Pipe, out of the X-Pipe, and then neck back down to 2.25" for the "Axle back" connection. At this point I may or may not add a flanged connection like @SM105K, jury is still out even though I went ahead and bought the flanges and gaskets.

Also, since I first bought this car I have always thought it should have come with Quads. If the GT500 can come with quads why couldn't the SHO? Haha. I decided to buy a cheapish set off eBay to test with, since I want to keep stock mufflers the main concern was the point at which the bumper starts to brake over and didn't want it sticking out.

First set purchased:

94233953 590722588209033 7669575962924679168 n

However, my fear was confirmed, as these would stick out about 1" past the brake over point. After doing more searching, making calls, and taking measurements, I found these:

94317949 244537480089845 7338904034213888000 n

The angle of the tips matches the SHO bumper almost perfectly, and by mounting this in the stock tip location I'll be moving INWARD instead of OUTWARD which will accomplish my needs. I realize the second tip will likely do nothing, but at least it will look cool haha.

With COVID the car has been pretty stagnant, I've done a few things that I'll update on.

For one, I got some of my photoshoot photos back from my buddy testing out his new camera at the Mid America Ford & Shelby Nationals. I volunteered most of the week but did decide to get in a few runs at the track event. Nothing crazy, it was bracket racing so I put in my neutered tune for consistency and ran 12.7s all day with 14 psi and 16 degrees of timing on 91. Put the E30 tune in after I was eliminated hoping to get some glory runs but they decided not to do TNT and shut the track down after eliminations. ****...

Car is looking great though, not sure I have anything else to do in the engine bay...

Also got most of my engine caps installed. Got a set of covers from an 11-14 GT, used a dremel to clearance a few pieces and it went on with a dab of epoxy. All thats left is the coolant cap, the black was discontinued so I got them cheap but the coolant was out of stock so got chrome. Gotta sand and paint it.

Planning to dip the engine cover soon and then do a few other accents to compliment the calipers.

What else should I do? I originally wanted a sleeper but with car shows I want more pop. I bought blue couplers to update the look, just need some extra time to pull everything and replace.

I think a legit next step for dress up is new hardware. Nuts and bolts and changing out hose clamps.
