Hello everyone!

As the title states, one of my beloved turbos in my 2013 has kicked the bucket. Among a couple other simple repairs I’m trying to see whether it would be feasible just to upgrade instead of replacing at the dealer (I have a guy, otherwise wouldn’t be at the dealer lol).

What are some of the well established options out there for upgrades? I’m looking for bolt on mainly but if something else is better with a tune I’m sure I could get that figured out.

I’m still pretty new to this stuff so any help would be appreciated.

Is there a package that I can buy and throw at an installer to put in for me?

also I’m not seeing the turbos on their site. Just tuning packages and plugs and such.

Just send them an email or give them a call and they will lay it all out for you on price and what's needed. I dealt with them about 2 months ago after I blew the rear turbo. Best decision I've made for the car and Matt is amazing with helping with any questions. Like Christmas morning when all the parts showed up. I did the installation myself as I have a shop, but everything was there that was needed. Make sure you tell them you want the gasket kit also. It's like $175 I think but worth not having to find all the gaskets and wait for Ford to get them to you. Tuning was easy just be sure to get them your strategy code from the tuner you will get a few days before you do the job so Matt can make the tune for your install day. The car won't run well if you do the 3 bar Map without the tune uploaded.

As for power my car is a daily driver so I'm not boosting crazy. Right now I'm at 10-13psi with 15psi being the highest spike. With the upgrades the turbos don't have to work as hard to achieve stock boost. If thats what you are looking for you get the reliability of the upgrades and not having to wait for backordered stock turbos from Ford.

Sounds awesome! I called them yesterday and spoke with Corby I believe it was. I’m picking up the turbos the power pack and the gasket pack. Along with the power pack comes the tuner if I’m not mistaken so once I have the shop bolt everything up I was told I could drive it the few miles to my house and do the tunein my driveway. I’m just waiting for them to open so I can order :)

Any rough cost of everything needed from Gear Head including tuner? I have 175,000 on 2014 and think I will need to look at new turbos sometime soon. Also, it is a daily driver so I will be interested to hear how other things are effected by the tune. I have a tuned diesel truck for EGR/Cat delete, and cruise control, oil life monitor, and other things related to fuel flow info is not working like they should be.
Thanks

You can also have them rebuilt with CR billet turbines, shafts etc..
You could have a company like Turbo technologies bore out the housing and put larger turbines in... tons of possibilities.

I ended up getting their turbos and power pack with gasket pack all for around 3900$ shipped. I’ll send back the cores and if both are usable I should get back around $1k.
