The Orange stuff: Motorcraft Orange Antifreeze/Coolant (spec WSS-M97B44-D and WSS-M97B44-D2) is being discontinued

If you cant get the Orange coolant, Use Yellow: Motorcraft Yellow Antifreeze/Coolant(spec WSS-M97B57-A1 and WSS-M97B57-A2)

Now you know if you cant get the Orange stuff. this was sent out as a message to the dealerships.

I've been using the dexcool non Motorcraft. I assume that is still being produced since GM was the 1st developer?

I haven't looked at the specs, but i don't think they are the same? I hope not with all the trouble that G.M. has had with eating plastic and what not.

I recommend DO NOT MIX THEM!!!! Do a full drain, flush, drain and then fill. Or just continue to top off with DEX-COOL OAT equivalent (Ford orange, Mopar Orange, orange OAT, Orange Prestone, etc)

Several of our prototype ford and roush vehicles have been drained and swapped with the new yellow and it looks like dark Urine instead of the florescent yellow that it's should. We did not drain the engine blocks.

They may be compatible but the color of the resulting mixture makes it difficult to gauge coolant life and potential engine issues by color of coolant.

I would be leary of anything mixed with the orange OAT (dex-cool) type coolant due it's finicky nature and tendency to "slime up" and attack seals.

Mix at your own risk.

Dexcool is crap. Dont mix it with green either lol, jells up big time mostly in the heads. Ive had problems with it on full iron engines, i wouldnt wanna see the outcome on an aluminum engine.
