Just purchased a 16 Sho PP. It’s been purchased used from an auto auction at 56k miles so wondering if there’s anything I should look for that would hint the car was not taken care of by the previous owner.

I'd go through and change the fluids, (oil, tranny, coolant), air filter, and then the PTU and RDU fluids. Since you have a PP those fluids should be easier to change. You should have a drain plug. If you're not planning to tune your car or do any mods, wouldn't hurt to change spark plugs as well.

Basically do a full tune up. That'll give you some insight as to how it was maintained and you'll know it's ready to roll now.

You should have a professional give it a once over for any potential body damage, replaced parts, water damage and have a professional scan tool that can read all the data (stored and live while running) --beyond stored codes from some off the shelf reader--to make sure you have a clear picture of what the baseline is. It's a couple bucks, but worth knowing. and change the driveline fluids and engine oil.

Is there a way to find out if the previous owner turned the car without using a mechanics data device?

Let Ford do the maintenance. It'll probably come back flashed with the latest ECU updates. That happened to my Roush supercharged Mustang. Took me a little while to figure out why it ran like $h!7 but sure enough, they did it. I'll never take my car to Ford again without this on. 4a0d54acfa1eb26875901b1400d90de7

This should be a "must have" IMHO for those whom still bring their cars to the stealership for repairs/warranty/maintenance.

Able to provide a link to purchase for the betterment of the community??

Agreed! I only go if it's a last resort. Here you go:

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B009GMLVZG/ref=cm_sw_r_sms_apa_i_JVKEEbKA4JYS3.

There are other covers available as well:

Basically, you want the loudest, most obnoxious cap you can find.

With this essentials quarantine in effect, I may just take the time to CAD a SHO specific one and 3D print a few.
My company was deemed essential so I don't get a break at all. But sign me up for a SHO cap if you decide to make some.
