Hi all, looking to purchase a 96 SHO. Anything I should look for. 92K mile car, Jasper replacement with welded cams at 10k miles. Long term current owner. I have owned a Gen 1, 2 Gen 2's, and currently a Gen 4. Never cared for the Gen 3, but it is really clean and I'm looking for another toy.

Nothing much to worry about at 92K. Just make sure to change all the fluids when you get it and maintain regular service intervals.
Depending what services have been done be wary of weakening hoses. Some have likely been replaced, but if not they will be going soon one the car is up to temperature.

Check the sunroof if it still works and closes correctly. This is a source of leaks in high pressure drive through car washes. Many times they either done return to the right spot or the seals are shrinking and allow leaks.

Antennas are likely not to work. The motors are typically good, but the plastic gear rack typically breaks.

There isn't much in the way of hop-ups like a Gen4, but things can be done depending on your goals, spare time and blank check writing skills. But keeping it stock it will last a long time.

Keep it stock and keep in mind there are hard to find parts. THere is a small plastic coolant T fitting that is common to crack and leak just under the intake manifold. Make sure you track what gaskets are available (head, intake, etc.) and be nice to the transmission. I drove my v8 about 100k more than you have on that 92k car before a slipping tranny made me dump it. I can't say I never had to fix some things but nothing as often as my earlier v6 SHOs.

Here is the Y-Adapter I replaced it with on both my SHO's.
